Characterisation and detection of dasheen mosaic potyvirus in Zantedeschia : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Horticultural Science in Plant Health at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Four potyvirus isolates believed to be dasheen mosaic potyvirus, the most frequently occurring virus to infect members of the Araceae, were obtained from Caladium, Colocasia, Xanthosoma and Zantedeschia in world-wide locations.

Management of plant health risks associated with processing of plant-based wastes: A review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The rise in international trade of plants and plant products has increased the risk of introduction and spread of plant pathogens and pests. In addition, new risks are arising from the implementation of more environmentally friendly methods of ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Use of isotope dilution method to predict bioavailability of organic pollutants in historically contaminated sediments. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Many cases of severe environmental contamination arise from historical episodes, where recalcitrant contaminants have resided in the environment for a prolonged time, leading to potentially decreased bioavailability.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Phase diagram of the dilute magnet LiHo_xY_{1-x}F_4

open access: yes, 2007
We study the effective long-range Ising dipole model with a local exchange interaction appropriate for the dilute magnetic compound LiHo_{x}Y_{1-x}F_4. Our calculations yield a value of 0.12 K for the nearest neighbor exchange interaction.

A quantitative assay for transformation of bone marrow cells by Abelson murine leukemia virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
A quantitative Abelson murine leukemia virus (A-MuLV) lymphoid cell transformation assay has been developed using a semisolid agarose culture system. Under these conditions lymphoid cell transformation was shown to vary linearly with the dose of A-MuLV ...

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

In vivo measurement of myocardial protein turnover using an indicator dilution technique. [PDF]

open access: yesCirculation Research, 1990
We applied a nondestructive tracer technique, previously developed for measuring skeletal muscle protein turnover, to the measurement of myocardial protein turnover in vivo. During a continuous infusion of L-[ring-2,6-3H]phenylalanine to anesthetized, overnight-fasted dogs, we measured the uptake of radiolabeled phenylalanine from plasma and the ...
