Macrophyte community structure across Serbian water-body types: foundations for developing bioassessment tools

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
Macrophytes are widely used as biological quality elements in ecological assessment, yet the extent to which they reflect water-body typology remains insufficiently evaluated in Serbia.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Influencing Factors and Assessment of River Habitat Health

open access: yesRenmin Zhujiang, 2020
As an important part of the river ecosystem, the river habitat plays avital role in the river ecosystem. Based on a summary of the stress on riverecosystems caused by a series of human activities such as water conservancyprojects, this paper introduces ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Warm‐Water Regimes Influence Microbial Diversity and Ecological Functions in Subtropical Gulf

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
The marine ecosystem is a key biogeochemical engine driven by complex hydrodynamic processes and harbors significant microbial abundance and diversity. However, the influence of warm‐water dynamics on marine microbial community composition and ecological
