Label-free assessment of complement-dependent cytotoxicity of therapeutic antibodies via a whole-cell MALDI mass spectrometry bioassay

open access: yesScientific Reports
Potency assessment of monoclonal antibodies or corresponding biosimilars in cell-based assays is an essential prerequisite in biopharmaceutical research and development.

Assay for KANKOH-SO No. 401 by titration method by tetraphenylboron with bromophenol blue as an indicator reagent.

open access: yesJournal of Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Japan, 1985
A simple and rapid titration method for KANKOH-SO No. 401 has been developed. KANKOH-SO No. 401 reacted with bromophenolblue (BPB) and formed a complex, which was extacted to chloroform. When tetraphenylborone (TPB) was added to this solution, TPB and KANKOH-SO No.

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Bimodal activation of different neuron classes with the spectrally red-shifted channelrhodopsin chimera C1V1 in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yes, 2012
The C. elegans nervous system is particularly well suited for optogenetic analyses of circuit function: Essentially all connections have been mapped, and light can be directed at the neuron of interest in the freely moving, transparent animals, while ...

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

A Comparison of Production Methods of High-Purity Perrhenic Acid from Secondary Resources

open access: yesSeparations
Methods for obtaining high-purity perrhenic acid (with metallic impurities content below 100 ppm) of a high concentration > 200 g/dm3 and entirely from secondary raw materials were compared.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created
