Age‐Related Decreases in Colonic Neurokinin A Content and Release Monitored Using Electrochemical Immunosensors

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, Volume 38, Issue 9, September 2026.
A 3D‐printed electrochemical immunosensor revealed significant age‐related reductions in colonic Neurokinin A (NKA) content and release. Decreased fecal NKA levels mirrored tissue changes, highlighting the potential of NKA as a noninvasive biomarker of age‐related bowel dysfunction.

A Phytophthora effector hijacks host StKNOX3‐StHUB1/2 complex to reprogram defense gene expression via histone monoubiquitination

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 127, Issue 5, September 2026.
SUMMARY KNOX (KNOTTED1‐like HOMEOBOX) transcription factors regulate the expression of genes involved in plant growth, development, and immunity by specifically binding to DNA elements. Previously, we found that the Phytophthora infestans RxLR effector Pi22798 targets the potato transcription factor StKNOX3 to promote colonization.
