Tick‐Tock, the Time Has Come: Leveraging TikTok to Understand, Prevent, and Treat Eating Disorders

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective TikTok—a highly engaging social media platform with a powerful algorithm that displays short videos—has become massively popular in recent years. As research highlights the concerning relationship between image‐based content on social media and disordered eating symptoms, TikTok may serve as an optimal platform to understand eating ...

Commonalities of platelet dysfunction in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and underlying comorbidities

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1013-1028, April 2025.
Abstract Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is characterized by a lack of a specific targeted treatment and a complex, partially unexplored pathophysiology. Common comorbidities associated with HFpEF are hypertension, atrial fibrillation, obesity and diabetes.

Exploring pathways leading to drug‐resistant epilepsy for patients with cryptogenic new onset refractory status epilepticus

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Cryptogenic new onset refractory status epilepticus (cNORSE) carries high risks of long‐term disability and post‐NORSE epilepsy, but mechanisms remain unclear. We aimed to assess the predictive value of inflammatory and brain injury biomarkers and determine whether immune disturbances persist in the chronic phase. Methods We enrolled

Seroprevalence of Bovine Leptospirosis using Indirect ELISA

Indian Journal of Animal Research, 2022
Background: Leptospirosis is a zoonotic bacterial disease causing abortion, stillbirths and loss of milk production in livestock resulting in huge economic losses. Leptospirosis in cattle has been under-reported and under-diagnosed in India due to non-specific symptoms, complex laboratory tests, fastidious nature of bacterium and lack of proper ...

Indirect ELISA test for malaria in blood donors

Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1984
To determine the potential risk of transfusion malaria at the Hospital Militar Central in Bogota, Colombia, sera from 3114 blood donors were tested for malaria antibodies by the indirect ELISA technique. Positive results were found in 8.6 per thousand of the serum samples using P.

Indirect Back-Titration ELISA

Applied Immunohistochemistry & Molecular Morphology, 2016
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is either based on sandwich, competitive, or inhibition type of format. However, these formats need 2 or 3 monoclonal antibodies (moAB) to estimate 1 antigen. To get a cost-effective, high throughput, ELISA for estimation of human tissue kallikreins we have now developed an indirect, back-titration style, Time ...

Measuring Hsp72 (HSPA1A) by Indirect Sandwich ELISA

2011
The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is an immunological technique which is used to determine the presence or quantity of an antigen within a sample. ELISAs rely on the use of at least one antibody (Ab) specific for the antigen being measured.

TRT virus serology: Discrepancy between ELISA and indirect immunofluorescence

Avian Pathology, 1990
The results of a survey for antibody to TRT virus in turkeys and chickens from Northern Ireland and turkeys from England, sampled prior to the emergence of TRT infection is reported. All the sera were negative using a streptavidin/ biotin based ELISA, but 16.7% of turkey and 12.6% of chicken sera from Northern Ireland and 7% of turkey sera from England

Indirect Competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)

Cold Spring Harbor Protocols, 2017
The indirect competitive ELISA (indirect cELISA) pits plate-immobilized antigen against antigens in solution for binding to antigen-specific antibody. The antigens in solution are in the test sample and are first incubated with antigen-specific antibody.

Enzyme-Based Methods for IgM Serology: Standard Indirect ELISA vs Antibody-Capture ELISA

Laboratory Medicine, 1992
In a comparison of the performance (sensitivity and specificity) of standard indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and two antibody-capture ELISA methods, 50 serum specimens were tested for immunoglobulin M (IgM) to Toxoplasma gondii , and 54 serum specimens were tested for IgM to cytomegalovirus.
