Endocytic Control of Cell‐Autonomous and Non‐Cell‐Autonomous Functions of p53

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NUMB Ex3‐containing isoforms localize to the plasma membrane, where they recruit p53 through SNX9 and direct it to multivesicular bodies and exosomes. Exported p53 is taken up by neighboring cells and activates nuclear programs, revealing an intercellular, exosome‐based pathway that might help establish a tumor‐suppressive microenvironment.

Multi-gradient structures by cold extrusion of strongly textured continuously cast commercially pure aluminum

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
During extrusion, the material is subjected to a heterogeneous deformation that results in the formation of gradients of microstructure and thus mechanical properties.

A technique for the measurement of reinforcement fibre tensile strength at sub-millimetre gauge lengths [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The strength of composite reinforcement fibres is normally measured on samples of much greater length than the actual residual fibre lengths found in many composite materials.

Understanding and Overcoming Antibody‐Drug Conjugate Resistance: Biological Mechanisms and Emerging Analytical Frameworks in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) transform breast cancer therapy, yet resistance limits their durability. Emerging evidence reveals that ADC failure is not solely tumor‐intrinsic but shaped by dynamic tumor–microenvironment interactions that alter drug delivery, processing, and response.

A model for pH determination during alcoholic fermentation of a grape must by Saccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A model to predict accurately pH evolution during alcoholic fermentation of must by Saccharomyces cerevisiae is proposed for the first time. The objective at least is to determine if the pH measurement could be used for predictive control.

A Testis‐Specific Aralkylamine N‐Acetyltransferase Regulates Dimorphic Sperm Function and Male Fertility in Moths

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identify a Lepidoptera‐conserved testis‐specific arylalkylamine N‐acetyltransferase (LTNAT) that governs male moth fertility via a novel mechanism. LTNAT loss disrupts eupyrene sperm mitochondrial derivatives and impairs apyrene sperm motility, offering a safe molecular target for innovative pesticides and genetic pest control.

Mathematical modeling and experimental study of material flow and torque in the extrusion-based additive manufacturing of granulated polymer

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Fused deposition modeling (FDM) method is one of the most common additive manufacturing techniques for printing polymer parts. However, it requires pre-formed filaments for printing which limits the variety of the materials that can be printed.

Finite Element Simulations of Four-holes Indirect Extrusion Processes of Seamless Tube

open access: yesComputers, Materials & Continua, 2009
Finite element simulations are performed to investigate the plastic deformation behavior of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy during its indirect extrusion through a four-hole die. The simulations assume the die, mandrel and container to be rigid bodies and ignore the temperature change induced during the extrusion process.

The development of a process for the production of restructured fish from recovered fish mince : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Technology in Food Technology at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Recovery of edible flesh by meat/bone separators The production of fish paste products such as Kamaboko (fish paste) and chukawa (fish sausage) is an ancient tradition in Japan, and it is only recently that the industry has developed into a mass ...

Maternal Preconception Antibiotic Exposure Disrupts Microbial Succession: A Transgenerational Risk for Offspring Gut Mucosal Immaturity and Colitis Susceptibility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that maternal antibiotic exposure prior to conception disrupts intergenerational gut microbial succession. By enhancing maternal‐offspring microbial transmission, altering microbial developmental trajectories and increasing selective pressures during community assembly, these disturbances lead to persistent gut mucosal immaturity and
