Sawtooth switching strategy implementation for Indirect Matrix Converter

2012 3rd Power Electronics and Drive Systems Technology (PEDSTC), 2012
The Indirect Matrix Converter (IMC) concept has been gaining recognition as a promising circuit alternative in recent years. An IMC has separate line and load side converters. Each switching period of line side converter is split into two portions. In each portion, the IMC is equivalent to a conventional inverter.

Common Mode Voltage Suppression of Three-to-Six-Phase Indirect Matrix Converter Based on 6-Virtual Vector Method

2024 IEEE 10th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC2024-ECCE Asia)
This article proposes a new modulation method that can suppress the maximum common mode voltage of a six phase output indirect matrix converter by 50%, while also taking into account the suppression of multi-phase output harmonic voltage.Firstly, the ...

Analysis of non-idealities in direct and indirect matrix converters

2005 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2005
This paper compares the voltage transfer characteristics of direct and indirect matrix converter topologies. Knowledge of the real voltage transfer capability of a converter is essential, especially in sensorless motor drives in low speed region. The comparison is based on the analysis of non-idealities caused by real semiconductor devices and safe ...

Analysis of Current Control Techniques in an Indirect Matrix Converter

2018 IEEE International Conference on Automation/XXIII Congress of the Chilean Association of Automatic Control (ICA-ACCA), 2018
In recent years new modulation and control techniques have appeared for matrix converters, which take advantage of new technological advances in microcontrollers and signal processors. This article makes a comparison of two control techniques for an indirect matrix converter. The comparison is done in simulation using Matlab-Simulink.

Fixed Slope Carrier PWM for Indirect Matrix Converter

2018 International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC-Niigata 2018 -ECCE Asia), 2018
Indirect matrix converter (IMC) typically requires zero current commutation (ZCC) at its rectifier stage. This paper proposes a fixed slope carrier modulation for IMC. According to homothetic triangle, the modulating functions in the inverter stage are scaled by the rectifier stage to accomplish ZCC.

Optimal modulation of indirect Z-source matrix converter

The 2010 International Power Electronics Conference - ECCE ASIA -, 2010
Z-source energy conversion is a recent concept introduced for adding voltage-boost functionality to the otherwise buck-only dc-ac inverter. The same concept can equally be extended to other converter topologies including the indirect ac-ac matrix converter, where only a single Z-source impedance network needs to be inserted to its intermediate dc-link.
