Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of Phaseolus vulgaris L. using indirect organogenesis [PDF]

open access: yesScientia Horticulturae, 2015
A protocol for genetic transformation of Phaseolus vulgaris L. cv. CIAP7247F via Agrobacterium tumefaciens was established. Primary green nodular calli and proliferative calli were used as target explants. Several factors such as Agrobacterium strain, plasmid, light conditions, bacterial concentration, co-cultivation period and type of callus were ...

Morphological and anatomical insights into de novo shoot organogenesis of in vitro ‘Delite’ rabbiteye blueberries

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
Blueberries are valued for their taste and their high nutritional benefits, including their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In vitro culturing is an alternative method for clonal propagation, and has been used in many biotechnological ...

Genetic and Phenotypic Features of the Five Known Polyaminopathies: A Critical Narrative Review

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Polyaminopathies are a recently described family of rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorders. Polyaminopathies disrupt the biosynthesis of the primary polyamines: putrescine, spermidine, and spermine. Snyder–Robinson syndrome results from hemizygous loss‐of‐function variants in the spermine synthase (SMS) gene, resulting in decreased or ...

Approaching the genetic dissection of indirect adventitious organogenesis process in tomato explants

open access: yesPlant Science, 2021
The screening of 862 T-DNA lines was carried out to approach the genetic dissection of indirect adventitious organogenesis in tomato. Several mutants defective in different phases of adventitious organogenesis, namely callus growth (tdc-1), bud differentiation (tdb-1, -2, -3) and shoot-bud development (tds-1) were identified and characterized.

Engineering Tertiary Lymphoid Structures: Nanomedicine, Bioengineering, and Biomaterials for Precision Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
This review explains how biomaterials and nanoparticles can be used to induce or modulate tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs), which are ectopic immune hubs that form in nonlymphoid tissues during chronic disease and cancer. By comparing different methods, the article highlights design principles for modeling TLSs or recapitulating specific TLS ...

Altered Dopamine Metabolism and Response to Treatment with Levodopa/Carbidopa in MCT8 Deficiency

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Allan‐Herndon‐Dudley syndrome (AHDS)/monocarboxylate transporter 8 (MCT8) deficiency is a rare X‐linked encephalopathy caused by SLC16A2 variants, impairing thyroid hormone (TH) transport into the brain. This leads to early central nervous system (CNS) TH deficiency, affecting brain maturation.

Evaluation of Potential Hormonal Activities of Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ashwagandha is a widely used herb in traditional medicine systems, particularly Ayurveda. Despite its extensive tradition, growing concerns regarding its potential endocrinological effects have prompted scientific scrutiny. This review systematically evaluates the current preclinical, clinical, and case study evidence concerning AS's effects ...

Morphogenic processes in callus tissue cultures and de novo regeneration of plants in Actinidia chinensis Planch

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
Our experiments have confirmed the considerable disposition of leaf explants of Actinidia chinensis Planch. for induction and intensive proliferation of callus cultures, as well as, a possibility to regulate morhogenesis in in vitro conditions.
