Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Insinuations, Indirect Speech Acts, and Deniability
DOI: https://doi.org/10.26333/sts.xxxvi2.03 Insinuations are indirect speech acts done for various reasons: a speaker S may insinuate P (i) because an insinuation is more polite, and S can save face by non-explicitly saying P (Brown, Levinson, 1987; Searle, 1975), (ii) because S can deny having insinuated P and avoid the responsibility of explicitly ...

Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward

Errors Analysis of Directive Speech Act and Politeness Strategy in Kaiwa Chukyu Learning
The research aimed to explain types of directive speech act encompassed meirei (order), irai (plea), kinshi (prohibition), kyoka (permit), and teian (suggestion) in the Japanese language. Directive speech acts were common for students in the kaiwa chukyu

This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

Processing Indirect Disagreement
Indirect speech is a phenomenon in which a speaker says something he does not literally mean, knowing that the listener will probably understand it correctly. One of the most recent theories of indirect speech, the theory of the strategic speaker, states

Exploring the Nature of Indirect Speech Acts

This study introduces a modular microfluidic platform that connects liver cells with live microbes to mimic key aspects of the gut–liver interaction in steatosis. Using this system, both microbial metabolites and live bacteria significantly reduced fat accumulation in liver cells, but live microbes triggered inflammation and broader metabolic changes ...

Explanation-Based Learning of Indirect Speech Act Interpretation Rules [PDF]
We describe an approach to deriving efficient rules for interpreting the intended meaning of indirect speech acts. We have constructed a system called sally that starts with a few, very general principles for understanding the intention of the speaker of
