Personalized Cancer Risk Assessments for Space Radiation Exposures
Individuals differ in their susceptibility to radiogenic cancers and there is evidence that this inter-individual susceptibility extends to HZE ion-induced carcinogenesis.

Radiotherapy is one of the most important cancer treatments, but its response varies greatly among individual patients. Therefore, the prediction of radiosensitivity, identification of potential signature genes, and inference of their regulatory networks

Prediction of Radiosensitivity in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma Based on Multiple Omics Data
Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is a malignant tumor. Radiotherapy (RT) is an important treatment for HNSCC, but not all patients derive survival benefit from RT due to the individual differences on radiosensitivity.

In silico analysis of cell cycle synchronisation effects in radiotherapy of tumour spheroids. [PDF]
Tumour cells show a varying susceptibility to radiation damage as a function of the current cell cycle phase. While this sensitivity is averaged out in an unperturbed tumour due to unsynchronised cell cycle progression, external stimuli such as radiation

Computation‐Less, Bias‐Free, and Ultra‐Broadband Photodetector for On‐Chip Edge Extraction
A computation‐less, bias‐free, and ultra‐broadband photodetector directly converts local optical‐intensity gradients into signed photocurrents through a position‐dependent bi‐directional photoresponse. This intrinsic physical sensing mechanism enables single‐pixel edge extraction from the near‐infrared to the long‐wave infrared at room temperature ...

Mechanoactive Biomaterials for Cell–Matrix Mechanotransduction
The graphical abstract shows how individual triggers (force, light, or temperature) and combined optothermal or receptor‐targeted actuation induce material responses at the tissue, cellular, and receptor scales. Their spatial (global or focused) and temporal (continuous or cyclic) modulation determines the resulting mechanical output.

Spatial Homeotropic and Planar Liquid Crystal Alignment Patterning
A voltage‐assisted two‐step photoalignment methodology achieves precise micro‐patterning of alternating planar and homeotropic liquid crystal domains. Applying an AC electric field during in situ laser illumination minimizes phase retardation, reducing the required exposure dose. This cooperative mechanism enables high‐resolution spatial patterning and

Zinc oxide thin films are engineered by controlling oxygen flow and nominal partial pressure during growth to tune atomic‐scale defects and crystallographic texture that limit device performance. By balancing competing defects, the films achieve improved preferential c‐axis orientation and enhanced ultraviolet photoresponse.

Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...

Hypothesis on Targeted Modification of Human Individual Radiosensitivity [PDF]
According to the last investigations, formation of chromosomal aberrations in cell population is potentially oncogenic event, thus increased individual radiosensitivity in comparison with mean population level value is the factor of radiogenic cancer occurrence and development risk.
