Material science advances show how surface chemistry improves low‐temperature prepared TiO2‐SiO2 composite films. Using a colloidal‐based synthesis method instead of a powdered‐based one, researchers exploit hydroxyl groups' interfacial interactions to create nanoscale structures with superior physicochemical and mechanical stability.

Oxygen Vacancy‐Rich S‐Scheme Heterojunction Photocatalyst With Enhanced Interfacial Charge Transfer for Round‐the‐Clock Formaldehyde Degradation

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This work addresses the critical challenges of severe charge recombination and the dependence on constant light illumination in photocatalysis. We propose a strategy centered on an oxygen vacancy‐rich S‐scheme heterojunction, which enables precise regulation of charge carrier behavior and achieves long‐lasting photocatalytic performance.
