Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Third order perturbed energy of fcc ferromagnetic thin films as described by Heisenberg Hamiltonian

open access: yesCeylon Journal of Science, 2016
Magnetic energy of fcc structured ferromagnetic thin films was investigated using third order perturbed Heisenberg Hamiltonian with seven magnetic energy parameters by a MATLAB computer program for the first time.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Anisotropy induced Feshbach resonances in mixture of

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2015
We theoretically explore the scattering properties in collisions between ${}^{6}{\rm{Li}}$ in the ground state and fermionic ${}^{171}{\rm{Yb}}$ in the metastable ${}^{3}{{\rm{P}}}_{2}$ state.

Linking inherent anisotropy with liquefaction phenomena of granular materials by means of DEM analysis

open access: yesSoils and Foundations, 2022
The liquefaction phenomena of sands have been studied by many researchers to date. Laboratory element tests have revealed key factors that govern liquefaction phenomena, such as relative density, particle size distribution, and grain shape.

Strain induced anisotropies in silica polydimethylsiloxane composites

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2010
Structural changes of silica in polydimethylsiloxane rubber induced by external forces were studied by means of small-angle X-ray scattering experiments. The silica fraction varies from 9 up to 23 vol% and the elongation ratio from 1 to 3. Within the q-range of 0.02 nm−1<q<1 nm−1 the primary particles and the clusters which consist of ...

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Mechanism of induced plastic anisotropy on polycrystalline metals

open access: yesPhysica Status Solidi (a), 1981
Induced plastic anisotropy is demonstrated by precise tension-torsion experiments on thin-walled polycrystalline tubes. After a sudden change of the deformation mode (e.g. tension to torsion) the stress direction delays with respect to the direction of the strain increment.

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.
