Integrating whole‐bone and regional analyses to understand human scapular growth
Abstract This study investigates ontogenetic changes in human scapular morphology using three‐dimensional geometric morphometrics with whole‐bone and region‐specific analyses. The aim is to evaluate whether the scapula follows a regular developmental pattern and whether its functionally distinct components, the scapular spine (SS) and glenoid fossa ...

The Lifting System with Minimum Induced Drag
The lifting system with minimum induced drag is a closed wing with a box shaped front view and was named Best Wing System by Prandtl; on the horizontal wings, the circulation results from the superposition of an elliptical and a constant distributions and, on the the side walls, it is butterfly shaped. Very recently, the Prandtl results (obtained by an

Summary: The induced lift is defined as the lift due to the velocities that the lifting vortices induce on themselves. This lift does not increase the induced drag. This has the same effect as decreasing the induced drag without changing the lift. A simple method is given for the evaluation of the induced lift. The rollup of the wake is not considered.

Induced Drag and Vorticity in Viscous and Inviscid Flows
Springer Aerospace TechnologyAerodynamic drag prediction and decomposition into physical constituents is a fundamental research topic, and a clear identification of lift-induced drag in viscous and compressible flows is still an open issue. The recent vortical force theory by Wu et al., based on the Lamb vector field integration, allowed for new induced drag definitions to be ...
