Phase transition-induced contact electric potential

Phase Transitions, 2021
Inhomogeneous phase transitions are widespread phenomena in nature. However, a complete understanding of these phase transitions is still challenging.

Training-induced and electrically induced potentiation in the neocortex

Neurobiology of Learning and Memory, 2005
Long-term potentiation (LTP) shares many properties with memory and is currently the most popular laboratory model of memory. Although it has not been proven that memory is based on an LTP-like mechanism, there is evidence that learning a motor skill can induce LTP-like effects.

Computation of the electrical potential inside the nerve induced by an electrical stimulus

2007 29th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2007
The aim is to investigate the activation conditions of the different nerves which control the bladder. The selective stimulation of the nerve fibers depends on electrode configuration and intensity of applied current. The goal of this study is to compute the electrical potential inside the nerve due to an applied boundary currents.

Mechanically induced electrical potentials of articular cartilage

Journal of Biomechanics, 2002
While there is increasing evidence that chondrocytes are affected by mechanically induced stimuli, endogenous force-related electrical potentials within articular cartilage have been so far observed only in-vitro. Using a porcine ex-vivo model (German Land Race), 8 knee joints were explanted and exposed to mechanical force (up to 800 N) using a special

Induced fluctuations of electric potentials in the apoplast of leaves

Planta, 1989
Extracellular recordings of electrical potential in leaves of different species by means of band-pass amplifiers showed the occurrence of fast, small changes (spikes) with an amplitude below 1 mV. Local illumination of leaves induced temporal patterns of spikes outside the illuminated region.
