[Increase in electrical potential induced by composite fillings].

Dental Cadmos, 1990
There are increasingly reports on sensitivity to pressure on teeth filled with composite resins in the days following the filling, a fact that has induced the Authors to carry out a research "in vitro" and "in vivo" in order to study variations of the electrical potential of teeth filled with composite materials. The study has shown that this potential

Separation of a variable electric field into potential and induced components

Izvestiya, Physics of the Solid Earth, 2008
It is shown that external exciters of a variable electromagnetic field can always be represented in the form of superposition of a potential electric field and an eddy electric current and the variable electric field excited by them in an arbitrary heterogeneous medium can always be separated into potential and induced components, differently ...

Ultrasonically induced electrical potentials in PLLA film and bone

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America
Osteosynthesis materials are used for the fixed treatment of serious bone fractures. Titanium and bioabsorbable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) are often used. PLLA is known to have piezoelectricity, and its contribution to bone fracture healing has been discussed.

Induced Change of Electric Self-potential and Magnetic Field at the Artificial Explosion

IEEJ Transactions on Fundamentals and Materials, 2016
SUMMARYStudy of the electric self‐potential (SP) and the magnetic field was conducted at the explosion seismic experiment in Ooyama, Toyama Prefecture. The explosion was induced by 450‐kg gun powder placed at a depth of 32.2 m to 75 m. The SP was measured by four electrodes arranged in a line crossing the explosion point, where the distance of each ...

Flow-Induced Transverse Electrical Potential across an Assembly of Gold Nanoparticles

Physical Review Letters, 2005
We report the generation of a potential difference, of the order of tens of millivolts, induced by the flow of polar liquids over an assembly of gold nanoparticles. The device consisted of two conducting glass plates, one of which contained the gold nanoparticle multilayer assembly.

The Forward Problem of Electroarthrography: Modeling Load-Induced Electrical Potentials at the Surface of the Knee

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2014
Electroarthrography (EAG) is a novel technology recently proposed to detect cartilage degradation. EAG consists of recording electrical potentials on the knee surface while the joint is undergoing compressive loading. Previous results show that these signals originating from streaming potentials in the cartilage reflect joint cartilage health.

Olfactory Bulb Potentials Induced by Electrical Stimulation of the Nasal Mucosa in the Frog

Acta Physiologica Scandinavica, 1960
AbstractThe potential changes induced in the frog's olfactory nerve and bulb by electrical stimulation of the nasal mucosa have been studied. The response developed by the bulb is composed of two successive negative deflections. It has been possible to segregate these deflections and partly identify their origins. The first component of the response is

Lymphokine-induced changes in macrophage transmembrane electrical potentials.

Biomedicine / [publiee pour l'A.A.I.C.I.G.], 1980
Intracellular electrical potentials have been measured in nonactivated and immunologically-activated macrophages obtained from the peritoneal cavities of mice. Normal macrophage potentials were established and found to become significantly more electronegative after in vitro exposure for 10 minutes to a lymphokine-containing supernatant which induced ...

Electrically induced potentiation of eighth nerve responses.

The Journal of auditory research, 1984
Whole-nerve potentials were recorded from a total of 42 anesthetized cats using a 25-micron electrode in the 8th nerve as it exits from the internal auditory meatus, in response to acoustic clicks across an 80-db range. Biphasic electric pulses, 0.5 msec in duration, 100/sec for 5-10 min, at 100 microamps, were delivered by the 8th nerve electrode ...
