Study on nonuniform microstructure and strength-toughness mechanism of thick-walled hot induction seamless bend

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2021
This paper investigated the continuous transformation cooling curve of thick-walled seamless pipe steel, microstructure nonuniformity of thick-walled hot induction seamless bend along wall thickness direction caused by hot induction bending, and their ...

Study of Quenched Crankshaft High-Cycle Bending Fatigue Based on a Local Sub Model and the Theory of Multi-Axial Fatigue

open access: yesMetals, 2022
For critical steel engine parts, such as crankshafts, the fatigue strength under the critical working condition is usually improved by the electromagnetic induction quenching technique.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Auxin mediates the touch-induced mechanical stimulation of adventitious root formation under windy conditions in Brachypodium distachyon

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2020
Background It is widely perceived that mechanical or thigmomorphogenic stimuli, such as rubbing and bending by passing animals, wind, raindrop, and flooding, broadly influence plant growth and developmental patterning.

Current density inhomogeneity throughout the thickness of superconducting films and its effect on their irreversible magnetic properties

open access: yes, 1997
We calculate the distribution of the current density $j$ in superconducting films along the direction of an external field applied perpendicular to the film plane. Our analysis reveals that in the presence of bulk pinning $j$ is inhomogeneous on a length

The Role of Calcitonin Gene‐Related Peptide in High‐Altitude Headache: A Prospective Field Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐altitude headache (HAH) is a common neurological condition associated with rapid ascent to high altitude. The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying HAH remain incompletely understood. Calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide implicated in migraine pathophysiology, may play a key role in the pathophysiology of ...

The influence of asphalt ageing on induction healing effect on porous asphalt concrete

open access: yesRILEM Technical Letters, 2019
Induction healing is a proven technology which is able to improve the self-healing capacity of asphalt concrete. Healing is achieved via electromagnetic current produced by passing induction machine, where steel asphalt constituents heat up which in turn

Application of line pipe and hot induction bends in hydrogen gas

open access: yesJournal of Pipeline Science and Engineering, 2022
For the upcoming hydrogen economy, transport pipelines for hydrogen gas and gas mixtures of hydrogen and natural gas are one of the important components. For the application of steel in hydrogen gas it is necessary to handle the risk of hydrogen embrittlement by adapting the right knowledge.
