Experimental analysis for star and open-end stator winding structures of IM
This article focuses on the scalar control of four induction machine structures: the conventional induction machine, the double-star machine, the open-ended stator winding machine and the dual open-end stator winding machine.

GENESIM : genetic extraction of a single, interpretable model [PDF]
Models obtained by decision tree induction techniques excel in being interpretable. However, they can be prone to overfitting, which results in a low predictive performance. Ensemble techniques are able to achieve a higher accuracy. However, this comes at

On the variation with flux and frequency of the core loss coefficients in electrical machines [PDF]
A model of core losses, in which the hysteresis coefficients are variable with the frequency and induction (flux density) and the eddy-current and excess loss coefficients are variable only with the induction, is proposed. A procedure for identifying the

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

An algorithm for cross-lingual sense-clustering tested in a MT evaluation setting [PDF]
Unsupervised sense induction methods offer a solution to the problem of scarcity of semantic resources. These methods automatically extract semantic information from textual data and create resources adapted to specific applications and domains of ...

An open source rule induction tool for transfer-based SMT [PDF]
In this paper we describe an open source tool for automatic induction of transfer rules. Transfer rule induction is carried out on pairs of dependency structures and their node alignment to produce all rules consistent with the node alignment.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Unsupervised induction of Arabic root and pattern lexicons using machine learning [PDF]
We describe an approach to building a morphological analyser of Arabic by inducing a lexicon of root and pattern templates from an unannotated corpus. Using maximum entropy modelling, we capture orthographic features from surface words, and cluster the ...

Data-driven discovery of the heat equation in an induction machine via sparse regression [PDF]
Discovery of natural laws through input-output data analysis has been of considerable interest during the past decade. Various approach among which the increasingly growing body of sparsity-based algorithms have been recently proposed for the purpose of ...
