Leakage Inductance Effects of Output Transformer on Current-Resonant Parallel Converter Characteristics

open access: yesIEEE Translation Journal on Magnetics in Japan, 1991
The effects of leakage inductance of the output transformer of a current-resonant parallel converter on the latter's characteristics were studied through simulations and experiments. As a parasitic resonance appears between the leakage inductance and the resonance circuit capacitor during the commutating period of the output rectifying circuit every ...

Tunable Extraordinary Optical Transmission in the Long‐Wavelength Infrared Range Using Electrostatic MEMS Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A MEMS‐integrated metamaterial filter enables continuous, low‐voltage spectral tuning in the long‐wavelength infrared (LWIR). The device employs extraordinary optical transmission in a dual suspended metasurface stack, where electrostatic actuation precisely controls the intermembrane air gap.

Transportable high-energy high-current inductive storage GW generator

open access: yes, 2014
A number of high power applications require a transportable high energy, high current GW generator to drive a pulsed power system at the output. A first prototype, based on exploding wire technology and using an H bridge circuit configuration, was ...

A light Darwin implementation of Maxwell’s equations to quantify resistive, inductive, and capacitive couplings in windings

open access: yesAIP Advances
High operating frequency is an enabler of high key performance indicators, such as increased power density, in electrical machines. The latter enhances the cross-coupling of resistive–inductive–capacitive phenomena in windings, which may lead to ...

Feasibility study to use the current transformers as inductive partial discharge sensors

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2016
Partial discharge (PD) is the most important factor in gradual insulation deterioration of high‐voltage (HV) power equipment, and then PD trend monitoring is a great issue for their condition assessment. Impulsive high‐frequency PD current/voltage signals can be detected by using electrical sensors, e.g. inductive/capacitive sensors.

Aluminum Oxynitride‐Engineered Transparent Aluminum Nitride Resistive Memory for Low‐Leakage Multilevel Switching in Micro‐LED Pixels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An AlON interfacial layer is engineered within an AlN switching layer to enable transparent RRAM with four stable resistance states. The device achieves low‐voltage multilevel switching and a high HRS, allowing precise grayscale modulation and preventing light leakage in micro‐LEDs operated at VDD = 2.7 V.

Demonstration of 300 kA CHI-startup current, coupling to transformer drive and flux savings on NSTX

open access: yes, 2011
Discharges formed by transient coaxial helicity injection (CHI) in the National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) have attained peak currents of 300 kA for the first time. CHI-started discharges are coupled to induction, and ramped up to over 1 MA. Up to

Spacer‐Less Substrate‐Integrated Metasurface for Near‐Unity Terahertz Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although conventional metal‐insulator‐metal (MIM) terahertz (THz) absorbers can provide near‐unity absorption, their multilayer stacks inevitably introduce additional thickness, mass, and residual stress, which limit their compatibility with THz thermal sensing platforms.

Micromachined Double‐Membrane Mechanically Tunable Metamaterial for Thermal Infrared Filtering

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Herein, a mechanically tunable double‐layer plasmonic metamaterial leveraging the extraordinary optical transmission effect observed in subwavelength arrays of openings within thin metal layers is presented. The concept is experimentally validated by integrating the proposed metamaterial structure into an electrostatic parallel‐plate actuator to create

LLM‐Integrated Human–Robot Interaction System for Microrobots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This paper proposes an LLM‐based control framework for guiding microrobots using human natural language. This framework can convert the natural human speech into safe and executable command sets for reliable navigation in complex environments. The experimental results show high accuracy and robustness in task performance, demonstrating the potential of
