The calibration of current transformers by means of mutual inductance: The measurement of mutual inductance and self-inductance and alternating current resistance

Proceedings of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1915
Reasons are given for the selection of initial inductances as a means for calibrating current transformers, the most important of which is the wide use to which they may be put besides the calibration of current transformers. The design and manufacture of the apparatus is described, reasons being given for the choice of the form of the secondary coils ...

Primary-Side Resonant Current-/Voltage-Clamped IPT Systems Without Clamping Coil or Isolation Transformer for Inherent CC-to-CV Charging

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics
A constant current (CC) and constant voltage (CV) inductive power transfer (IPT) charging system has become popular for battery charging applications. To achieve inherent CC-to-CV charging, the primary-side resonant current-/ voltage-clamped IPT systems ...

Bearing fault detection using wavelet packet transform of induction motor stator current

Tribology International, 2007
Induction motor vibrations, caused by bearing defects, result in the modulation of the stator current. In this research, bearing defect is detected using the stator current analysis via Meyer wavelet in the wavelet packet structure, with energy comparison as the fault index. The advantage of this method is in the detection of incipient faults.

Transformer–rectifier flux pump using inductive current transfer and thermally controlled Nb3Sn cryotrons

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1979
Transformer–rectifier flux pumps using thermally switched Nb3Sn cryotrons are being investigated as a loss make-up device for the proposed isochorically operated (sealed) superconducting magnets for the Canadian Maglev vehicle. High currents (1000 A) were obtained in an experimental flux pump using inductive current transfer and operating at 2 Hz.

Line current analysis for bearing fault detection in induction motors using Hilbert transform phase

International Aegean Conference on Electrical Machines and Power Electronics and Electromotion, Joint Conference, 2011
The present paper focuses by means of an experimental study, on the effect of a bearing fault on the stator current signatures in induction motors. The variation in the amplitude of the characteristic components is not so significant. For that and in order to depict the presence of the fault harmonic signatures, the authors used the phase analysis of ...

Understanding of HV Current Transformer Failures During Short-Time Current Tests - An Insight of Current Density Calculations Beyond IEC Standards

2019 International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Technology (ICHVET), 2019
Abnormal current is the result of a power system fault for which all components must be well designed. And also it is highly difficult to estimate the number of such occurrences in the network.

Fast power ``crowbar'' system using a current transformer with extremely low leakage inductance

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1974
A power crowbar system for fast θ-pinch experiments is operated successfully. A current transformer with extremely low leakage inductance is used to reduce the effective impedance of series capacitor system. The leakage inductance of the transformer is reduced to 2 nH by employing a special arrangement of windings.

Inductive Current Transformer Core ParametersBehaviour vs. Temperature Under Different Working Conditions

2019
This paper presents a study focused on the equivalent parameters of an inductive current transformer for medium voltage purposes. In particular, its equivalent parameters behaviour has been assessed by varying both the temperature and the working conditions (current and voltage). Preliminary results provide interesting “calibration” curves which may be
