Direct‐Write Printed, Solid‐Core Solenoid Inductors with Commercially Relevant Inductances

open access: yesAdvanced Materials & Technologies, 2018
Additive manufacturing has the potential to fabricate passive components (e.g., capacitors, resistors, inductors, etc.) of a radio frequency (RF) circuit with minimized dimensions and controllable shapes in order to realize high‐density RF electronics ...

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Research on the Comparison Analyses of Three-Phase Discrete and Integrated LC Filters in Three-Phase PV Inverter

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2013
In three-phase photovoltaic (PV) system, three-phase filter inductors are important part for the output electrical power quality. The comparison analyses of three-phase discrete filter inductors and two kinds of three-phase integrated filter inductors in

Design of electromagnetic components for EV battery chargers

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This study focuses on the appropriate design of the inductive elements of the LLC converter based on a typical industrial approach, i.e. assuming to use standard parts available on the market from qualified manufacturers.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Triple buck converter – an efficient low-distortion switch-mode power amplifier topology

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
A switch-mode power amplifier topology that can achieve both a high conversion efficiency and low-output signal distortion is introduced. Such systems are desirable for ultra-high precision amplifiers that, for example, drive actuators in nanometre ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Spiral inductors on silicon for wireless communications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents the design and fabrication of integrated micromachined inductors on silicon substrates. In order to reduce eddy currents in silicon substrates, bulk-micromachining technology is used to etch the silicon wafer.

Improved single‐layer powder core inductor design procedure for DC‐DC converters

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
One of the early design decisions for DC‐DC converters is the choice of an appropriate magnetic core material. Powder cores in particular are suitable due to their saturation flux density of up to 1.5 T.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
