The Role of Polyphenols in Respiratory and Gut Health: From the Perspective of Gut‐Lung Axis

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The gut‐lung axis constitutes a dynamic, multidirectional communication platform between the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. Its complexity arises from the integrated crosstalk among the microbiota, immune system, and redox homeostasis, collectively influencing disease susceptibility and progression.

Etiology and immunology of infectious bronchitis virus

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Poultry Science, 2010
Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) of chickens is currently one of the main diseases associated with respiratory syndrome in domestic poultry, as well as with losses related to egg production.

Infectious bronchitis virus inhibits activation of the TLR7 pathway, but not the TLR3 pathway

open access: yesArchives of Virology, 2020
Various strains of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) cause different forms of infectious bronchitis with different clinical signs. Here, primary chicken embryo kidney (CEK) cells and specific-pathogen-free (SPF) chickens were infected with three ...

Infectious bronchitis virus: Immunopathogenesis of infection in the chicken [PDF]

open access: yesAvian Pathology, 1997
The immunopathogenesis of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) infection in the chicken is reviewed. While infectious bronchitis (IB) is considered primarily a disease of the respiratory system, different IBV strains may show variable tissue tropisms and also affect the oviduct and the kidneys, with serious consequences.

Staging concept for aging management: Definition, mechanism, and coping strategies

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
We divided the overall aging stage into “pre‐aging”, “aging compensation”, and “aging disability”. For each stage, we delineate the clinical presentations, biological phenomena, theoretical underpinnings, and key management priorities. Abstract Aging, as a gradual and largely irreversible biological process, characterized by declining organismal ...

Phylogentic analysis of recent infectious bronchitis virus isolates from broiler chicken farms in Kafrelsheikh, Egypt [PDF]

open access: yesBenha Veterinary Medical Journal, 2015
Infectious bronchitis (IB), caused by the IB virus (IBV), is a highly contagious disease and results in asignificant economic loss to the commercial chicken industry all over the world.

N-glycosylation of infectious bronchitis virus M41 spike determines receptor specificity

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2020
Infection of chicken coronavirus infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is initiated by binding of the viral heavily N-glycosylated attachment protein spike to the alpha-2,3-linked sialic acid receptor Neu5Ac. Previously, we have shown that N-glycosylation of

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Coronaviridae: Infectious Bronchitis Virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The abstract is published online only. If you did not include a short abstract for the online version when you submitted the manuscript, the first paragraph or the first 10 lines of the chapter will be displayed here. If possible, please provide us with an informative abstract. Avian infectious bronchitis virus is the prototype of the gammacoronavirus,

Preventive Application of House Dust Mite‐Sublingual Immunotherapy Induces Blocking Antibodies in Sensitized Preschool Children

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
HDM‐pSLIT induced IgG, IgG1, and IgG4 specific to major HDM allergens in sensitized non‐allergic preschool children without increasing HDM‐sIgE. It blunted the development of new sensitizations and reduced HDM reactivity in skin and basophils. HDM‐pSLIT treated children displayed a blocking effect on HDM‐induced basophil activation.
