Co-circulation of infectious diseases on networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We consider multiple diseases spreading in a static Configuration Model network. We make standard assumptions that infection transmits from neighbor to neighbor at a disease-specific rate and infected individuals recover at a disease-specific rate. Infection by one disease confers immediate and permanent immunity to infection by any disease.

Phylogenomic characterization of Flavobacterium psychrophilum isolates retrieved from Turkish rainbow trout farms

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
Abstract Flavobacterium psychrophilum, a devastating fish pathogen, is responsible for bacterial cold‐water disease (BCWD), also known as rainbow trout fry syndrome. F. psychrophilum is the main causative agent of outbreaks in rainbow trout farms, especially at early live stages. In the present study, we aimed to characterize F.

Why large icosahedral viruses need scaffolding proteins: The interplay of Gaussian curvature and disclination interactions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
While small single stranded viral shells encapsidate their genome spontaneously, many large viruses, such as the Herpes virus or Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV), typically require a template, consisting of either scaffolding proteins or inner core.

Detection of vvIBDV in Vaccinated SPF Chickens

open access: yesActa Veterinaria Scandinavica, 2005
The purpose of our experiment was to investigate, if apparently healthy, vaccinated chickens may be involved in maintaining and spreading infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) in poultry environments.

Pathogenicity and Molecular Characterisation of the VP2 Gene of Infectious Bursal Disease Virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Pathogenicity of four infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) isolates was studied on specific-pathogen-free (SPF) chickens. Chickens inoculated with isolates 92/04, 94/B551 and 97/61 developed severe clinical manifestations with a high mortality ranging ...

The C-terminal domain of the pVP2 precursor is essential for the interaction between VP2 and VP3, the capsid polypeptides of infectious bursal disease virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The interaction between the infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) capsid proteins VP2 and VP3 has been analyzed in vivo using baculovirus expression vectors.

Leiomyoma Causing Disease in a Wild Adriatic Sturgeon (Acipenser naccarii , Bonaparte, 1836)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Adriatic sturgeon, Acipenser naccarii, is an endemic species to the Adriatic Sea basin classified as critically endangered according to the IUCN Red List. Limited information is available regarding the health status and diseases affecting this species, particularly in the wild.

Data-driven approaches for predicting spread of infectious diseases through DINNs: Disease Informed Neural Networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In this work, we present an approach called Disease Informed Neural Networks (DINNs) that can be employed to effectively predict the spread of infectious diseases. This approach builds on a successful physics informed neural network approaches that have been applied to a variety of applications that can be modeled by linear and non-linear ordinary and ...

Photobiomodulation associated with physical exercise in shoulder impingement syndrome. Systematic review with meta‐analysis

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
The combination of physical exercise and PBM therapy has been demonstrated to be an effective approach in reducing pain and enhancing range of motion and functionality. Abstract To present the use of PBM associated with physical exercise in the treatment of shoulder impingement syndrome, with its different parameters. The following databases were used:

Studies On Local Isolates Of Infectious Bursal Disease Virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Infectious bursal disease (lBD) is one of the most important viral diseases in chickens. IBD virus ( IBDV) from seven local field outbreaks in layer, broiler and village chickens were isolated, propagated and identified.
