Integrated gross and microanatomical analysis of the periportal lymphatic system in human liver

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Although animal studies have indicated that the periportal lymphatic system is an important intrahepatic lymphatic route, detailed human studies are scarce. We studied the lymphatic pathways and dynamics around Glisson's capsule in human livers. Methods We performed whole‐mount immunostaining for the liver using podoplanin and CD‐31

Enstrophy and Ergodicity of Gravity Currents [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
We study a coupled deterministic system of vorticity evolution and salinity transport equations, with spatially correlated white noise on the boundary. This system may be considered as a model for gravity currents in oceanic fluids. The noise is due to uncertainty in salinity flux on fluid boundary.

Role of noncontrast enhanced abdominal ultrasound in the diagnostic assessment of pediatric inflammatory bowel disease

open access: yesJournal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Assessment of small bowel involvement when diagnosing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) delineates clinical subtype and disease extension. The gold standard for small bowel assessment is magnetic resonance enterography (MRE), but MRE is not always feasible for children.

On the number of monochromatic solutions of integer linear systems on Abelian groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Let $G$ be a finite abelian group with exponent $n$, and let $r$ be a positive integer. Let $A$ be a $k\times m$ matrix with integer entries. We show that if $A$ satisfies some natural conditions and $|G|$ is large enough then, for each $r$--coloring of $G\setminus \{0\}$, there is $\delta$ depending only on $r,n$ and $m$ such that the homogeneous ...

Late Survival and Long‐Term Follow‐Up After Radical Resection of Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma With Associated Venous Tumor Thrombus

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives This study evaluates the prognostic value of venous tumor thrombus (VTT) in patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) undergoing radical resection and inferior vena cava (IVC) thrombectomy. Methods Retrospective review of patients with radical nephrectomy for RCC and associated VTT (2000−2024).
