Controls on spatial and temporal variations in sand delivery to salmonid spawning riffles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Fine sediment infiltration into gravel interstices is known to be detrimental to incubating salmonid embryos. Infiltration into spawning riffles can show large spatial variations at the scale of a morphological unit and over time, with significant ...

Eosinophilia with pulmonary infiltrates [PDF]

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, 2014
Lymphoma is hard to be diagnosed without an exact pathologic evidence. Eosinophilia might be one of its signs. However, some other clinical characteristics such as special contact history, pulmonary infiltrates, and the effectiveness of prednisone treatment could mislead our diagnosis.

The role of fibroblast growth factors in cell and cancer metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling regulates crucial signaling cascades that promote cell proliferation, survival, and metabolism. Therefore, FGFs and their receptors are often dysregulated in human diseases, including cancer, to sustain proliferation and rewire metabolism.

Multidimensional OMICs reveal ARID1A orchestrated control of DNA damage, splicing, and cell cycle in normal‐like and malignant urothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

Characterization of bulk MgB2 synthesized by infiltration and growth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Superconducting MgB2 has been synthesized successfully by a modified infiltration and growth (IG) technique. The ambient pressure technique is relatively simple and scalable to complex shaped bulks.

Multi‐omic characterization of consensus molecular subtype 1 (CMS1) colorectal cancer with dampened immune response improves precision medicine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study highlights the importance of multi‐omic analyses in characterizing colorectal cancers. Indeed, our analysis revealed a rare CMS1 exhibiting dampened immune activation, including reduced PD‐1 expression, moderate CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, and suppressed JAK/STAT pathway.

Application of the electrical impedance spectrometry method for monitoring of water flow through unsaturated soil

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum. Formatio Circumiectus, 2020
Aim of the study: The aim of the research was to determine the sensitivity of the impedance spectrometry (EIS) method to changes in electrical resistance of the soil medium caused by water infiltration. Material and methods: The research was carried
