Infinite series containing quotients of central binomial coefficients [PDF]
By making use of the Wallis' integral formulae and integration by parts, two classes of infinite series are evaluated, in closed form, in terms of π and Riemann zeta function.

The moments of infinite series.
Consider a conditionally convergent series \(L(u)=\sum_{\gamma \in S}c(\gamma)e^{i\gamma u}\) \((u\in {\mathbb R})\) where \(S=\{\gamma \}\) is a sequence of real numbers with the limit infinity of \(| \gamma |\). Consider \[ M_{\lambda}(U)=(1/U)\int^{U}_{0}| L(u)|^{\lambda}\, du\quad (\lambda >0). \] Under suitable conditions on \(c(\gamma)\), we show

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Two criteria for trascendental sequences
The concept of trascendental sequence is defined in this contribution by means of the related trascendental series. The main results are two criteria for when certain sequences are trascendental. Several applications are presented.

On the numerical solution of Fredholm-type integro-differential equations using an efficient modified Adomian decomposition method [PDF]
The efficiency of the Adomian decomposition method in the solution of integro-differential equations cannot be overemphasized. However, improvement of the method is needed as its drawbacks have been analyzed and reported in recent literature.

Infinite Product Representation for the Szegö Kernel for an Annulus
The Szegö kernel has many applications to problems in conformal mapping and satisfies the Kerzman-Stein integral equation. The Szegö kernel for an annulus can be expressed as a bilateral series and has a unique zero.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Some Pitfalls in Introductory Programming Courses
This paper discusses some difficulties in teaching introductory courses to programming, paying particular attention to their mathematical nature. We consider some aspects, which have not been commented in detail in textbooks and often neglected by course
