This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Influenza virus in human exhaled breath: an observational study. [PDF]
Recent studies suggest that humans exhale fine particles during tidal breathing but little is known of their composition, particularly during infection. We conducted a study of influenza infected patients to characterize influenza virus and particle ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Evaluation of recombinant influenza virus-simian immunodeficiency virus vaccines in macaques [PDF]
There is an urgent need for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) vaccines that induce robust mucosal immunity. Influenza A viruses (both H1N1 and H3N2) were engineered to express simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) CD8 T-cell epitopes and evaluated ...

Influenza virus infections [PDF]
Summary Ninety-six strains of influenza A and 113 influenza B were found in the two MRC/PHLS surveys. In the general practitioner survey the majority of strains were isolated from cases diagnosed as influenza but in hospital most came from cases diagnosed as having other respiratory infections.

TTT and R2TP chaperone complexes are required for the assembly and activation of mTORC1. WAC directly interacts with components of TTT, R2TP, and mTORC1, and these interactions are affected by the availability of glucose and glutamine, correlating with changes in mTORC1 activity.

Spread of Canine Influenza A(H3N2) Virus, United States
A canine influenza A(H3N2) virus emerged in the United States in February–March 2015, causing respiratory disease in dogs. The virus had previously been circulating among dogs in Asia, where it originated through the transfer of an avian-origin influenza

CDT1 is an essential protein for DNA replication licensing that loads the MCM complex, the eukaryotic replicative DNA helicase, onto replication origins. Overexpression of CDT1 induces cell cycle arrest at the S phase. Here we showed CDT1 inhibits the progression of replication forks by interacting with the MCM complex, leading to the stalling and ...
