Unlocking the potential of tumor‐derived DNA in urine for cancer detection: methodological challenges and opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

Superadditivity of two quantum information resources

open access: yesScience Advances, 2017
Demonstration of the superadditivity of two quantum information resources with three-partite nondistillable entangled states. Entanglement is one of the most puzzling features of quantum theory and a principal resource for quantum information processing.

Subpar reporting of pre‐analytical variables in RNA‐focused blood plasma studies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical variables strongly influence the analysis of extracellular RNA (cell‐free RNA; exRNA) derived from blood plasma. Their reporting is essential to allow interpretation and replication of results. By evaluating 200 exRNA studies, we pinpoint a lack of reporting pre‐analytical variables associated with blood collection, plasma preparation ...

Dynamical Resources [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Quantum channels are quintessential to quantum information, being used in all protocols, and describing how systems evolve in space and time. As such, they play a key role in the manipulation of quantum resources, and they are often resources themselves, called dynamical resources.

Evaluating the appropriateness of electronic information resources for learning.

open access: yesJournal of the Medical Library Association, 2016
OBJECTIVES Current US medical students have begun to rely on electronic information repositories-such as UpToDate, AccessMedicine, and Wikipedia-for their pre-clerkship medical education. However, it is unclear whether these resources are appropriate for

On‐treatment dynamics of circulating extracellular vesicles in the first‐line setting of patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer: the LEXOVE prospective study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.
