Advancements and Challenges in Colloidal Quantum Dot Infrared Photodetectors: Strategies for Short-Wave Infrared, Mid-Wave Infrared, and Long-Wave Infrared Applications

open access: yesQuantum Beam Science
Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) have emerged as promising materials for the development of infrared photodetectors owing to their tunable band gaps, cost-effective manufacturing, and ease of processing.

BICEP3: a 95 GHz refracting telescope for degree-scale CMB polarization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
BICEP3 is a 550 mm-aperture refracting telescope for polarimetry of radiation in the cosmic microwave background at 95 GHz. It adopts the methodology of BICEP1, BICEP2 and the Keck Array experiments - it possesses sufficient resolution to search for ...

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

PbSe/CdTe single quantum well infrared detectors

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
We report on the fabrication and characterization of a new type of mid-infrared photodetector. The infrared sensitive element of the detector is a PbSe single quantum well (SQW) embedded in an intrinsic region of a CdTe p-i-n diode. Electron-beam-induced

NbTiN superconducting nanowire detectors for visible and telecom wavelengths single photon counting on Si3N4 photonic circuits

open access: yes, 2013
We demonstrate niobium titanium nitride superconducting nanowires patterned on stoichiometric silicon nitride waveguides for detecting visible and infrared photons. The use of silicon nitride on insulator on silicon substrates allows us to simultaneously

Intermolecular Interactions as Driving Force of Increasing Multiphoton Absorption in a Perylene Diimide‐Based Coordination Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Experimental Study on Damage Effect of Mid-Infrared Pulsed Laser on Charge Coupled Device (CCD) and HgCgTe Detectors

open access: yesSensors
As the weak link in electro-optical imaging systems, photodetectors have always faced the threat of laser damage. In this paper, we experimentally investigated the damage mechanism of the photodetector induced by the out-of-band laser.

Extended-wavelength InGaAsSb infrared unipolar barrier detectors

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
We presented an extended-wavelength InGaAsSb infrared unipolar barrier detector working at room temperature. The detector with GaSb lattice-matched InGaAsSb absorb layer and AlGaAsSb unipolar barrier can achieve high material quality and low dark current.
