Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Lattice-charge imbalance and redox catalysis over perovskite-type ferrite- and manganite-based mixed oxides as studied by XRD, FTIR, UV–Vis DRS, and XPS

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
In the present investigation, two sets of pure and substituted ferrite- and manganite-based mixed oxides were prepared within the stoichiometric formula $$A_{1 - x} A^{\prime}_{x} B_{1 - x} B^{\prime}_{x} O_{3}$$ A 1 - x A x ′ B 1 - x B x ′ O 3 , where A

A Practical Noise2Noise Denoising Pipeline for High‐Throughput Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A lightweight and reproducible denoising pipeline for high‐throughput Raman spectroscopy is introduced, based on a 1D convolutional autoencoder trained with a Noise2Noise strategy. Using only repeated short‐exposure acquisitions, the method suppresses stochastic noise without reference spectra, enabling reliable spectral reconstruction while preserving

Identifying and Characterizing Infrared Excesses in the Spitzer Kepler Survey (SpiKeS)

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We report our search for infrared excesses in the Spitzer/Infrared Array Camera survey of the Kepler field at 3.6 and 4.5 μ m. The Spitzer Kepler Survey contains ∼190,000 targets, which we reduce to ∼117,000 targets after applying multiple filters to ...

The Influence of Field‐Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) Temperature and Cooling Rate on the Microstructural Evolution in Gamma‐Titanium Aluminide Alloy GE4822

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the Field Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) parameters, dwell temperature and cooling rate, significantly influences the microstructural evolution in titanium aluminide GE4822. Significant γ‐lamellar colonies develop only upon cooling through the α‐transus.

White Dwarfs with Infrared Excess from LAMOST Data Release 11

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Infrared (IR) excess observed around white dwarfs (WDs) is typically attributed to companions or debris disks. These systems are interesting because they offer a unique opportunity to study the late stages of stellar evolution and the interactions ...
