This study uncovers that quercetin naturally targets mitochondria. By coordinating quercetin with Fe3+, we engineer an ultrasmall cascade nanozyme (MCN) with superoxide dismutase‐catalase activities. MCN crosses the damaged blood–brain barrier, scavenges mitochondrial ROS, prevents mitochondrial DNA leakage, and blocks the cGAS‐STING pathway, thereby ...

Investigation in the Use of Infrared Absorption Spectrophotometry [PDF]
Three rather unrelated projects in infrared spectrophotometry were carried out by the writer. First, some effort was expended in trying to find cell windows which were suitably transparent to infrared radiation and yet water insoluable.

Isolation of Diosgenin from Ethanol Extract of Gadung Tuber (Dioscorea hispida Dennst.) and Identification with The UV-Visible Spectrophotometry and Fourier Transform Infrared [PDF]
Background: Gadung tuber (Dioscorea hispida Dennst.) is widely spread in Indonesia, but has not been fully studied. Gadung tubers have various chemical compounds, one of which is diosgenin. Diosgenin belongs to the steroid saponin class which can be used

Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Investigation of in vivo measurement of cerebral cytochrome-c-oxidase redox changes using near-infrared spectroscopy in patients with orthostatic hypotension [PDF]
We have previously used a continuous four wavelength near infrared spectrometer to measure changes in the cerebral concentrations of oxy- (Δ[HbO2] and deoxy- haemoglobin (Δ[HHb]) during head-up tilt in patients with primary autonomic failure.

Infrared Spectrophotometry as a Means for Identification of Mosquitoes.
SummaryCrude aqueous extracts of Culex molestus, Culex quinquefasciatus, and Aedes aegypti adult mosquitoes were identified by infrared spectrophotometry. The most important differences were the relative intensities of the peaks at about 6.95 and 7.2 μ, and the relative depth and shape of the broad band from about 8.6 to 10 μ.
