The use of inhaled corticosteroids in wheezy pre-school age children : current practice and literature review [PDF]
Preschool children and infants frequently suffer wheezy episodes, mostly associated with viral respiratory tract infections. There is no evidence to support the use of maintenance low dose inhaled corticosteroids to prevent or manage episodic mild wheeze

Effects of short-term treatment with atorvastatin in smokers with asthma - a randomized controlled trial [PDF]

Effects of inhaled corticosteroids on bone [PDF]
Inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) are the most effective therapy for asthma currently available. The increasing use of ICS raises the issue of possible adverse systemic effects. Since one of the most important side-effects of oral corticosteroids (OCS) is osteoporosis, this article focuses on current knowledge of the effects of ICS on bone.

Mechanosensitive Piezo1/Osteocalcin/Irisin Axis Protects Against Disuse‐Induced Muscle Atrophy
Mechanical unloading suppresses bone Piezo1 expression, which reduces circulating undercarboxylated osteocalcin (unOCN). unOCN reduction subsequently exacerbates IMM‐induced Fndc5/Irisin decrease and drives severe muscle atrophy. Bone Piezo1 activation or exogenous osteocalcin/Irisin ameliorate muscle atrophy, while muscle‐specific Gprc6a or Fndc5 ...

Inhaled Corticosteroids in Lung Diseases [PDF]
Abstract Inhaled corticosteroids (ICSs) are used extensively in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) due to their broad antiinflammatory effects. They improve lung function, symptoms, and quality of life and reduce exacerbations in both conditions but do not alter the progression of disease.

Pseudorabies virus (PRV), an emerging zoonotic α‐herpesvirus, causes life‐threatening human encephalitis. We identified a broad‐spectrum neutralizing antibody 6F7 targeting PRV gD. It blocks gD‐Nectin‐1 binding and membrane fusion, inhibiting replication across all PRV variants, representing a promising candidate for anti‐PRV therapy.
