Anti-Müllerian hormone and inhibin B as predictors of pregnancy after treatment by in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection

open access: yes, 2008
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) as a marker of reproductive outcome after IVF/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). DESIGN: Longitudinal study. SETTING: University hospital.

Inhibin B and anti-Müllerian hormone as markers of gonadal function after hematopoietic cell transplantation during childhood

open access: yesBMC Pediatrics, 2011
Background It is difficult to predict the reproductive capacity of children given hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) before pubertal age because the plasma concentrations of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) are not ...

Inhibin βB Mediates Oligotrophic Adaptation via Regulating Muscle Satellite Cell Proliferation and Differentiation in Schizopygopsis younghusbandi

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
① Nutrient deficiency upregulates inhibin βB, activating SMAD signaling to promote p21. Increased p21 inhibits mcm2/mcm4/mcm5 and cyclin E2, inducing G1‐phase arrest, slowing growth, and reducing energy consumption. ② Inhibin βB also upregulates pdgf‐c, which induces α‐SMA, leading to muscle satellite cell fibrosis.

Interrelationships among reproductive hormones and antral follicle count in human menstrual cycles

open access: yesEndocrine Connections, 2016
It is recognised that ovarian factors, including steroid and protein hormones, are critical in the feedback regulation of pituitary gonadotropins; however, their individual contributions are less defined.

Testicular histopathology and its association with germ cell numbers, serum concentrations of reproductive hormones, and semen quality

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background It is well‐established that spermatogenesis, semen quality, and reproductive hormones are interlinked. It is, however, less well‐described how various specific testicular histopathologies are linked to reproductive hormones and semen quality.

Cryopreservation of Spermatozoa Prior and Post‐Orchiectomy in Patients With Testicular Germ Cell Cancer—Does the Timing Matter?

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Testicular germ cell cancer (TGCC) is the most frequent malignancy in young men of reproductive age. According to guidelines, semen cryopreservation should be performed prior to orchiectomy. Lack of time and local facilities as well as mental pressure are challenges in terms of fertility preservation before surgery.

Expression of inhibin-alpha is regulated synergistically by Wilms' tumor gene 1 (Wt1) and steroidogenic factor-1 (Sf1) in sertoli cells. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Wt1 encodes a zinc finger nuclear transcriptional factor, which is specifically expressed in testicular Sertoli cells and knockdown of Wt1 in Sertoli cells causes male mice subfertility. However, the underlying mechanism is still unclear.

Assessing a Model for a Complex Systemic Disorder—The Value of Male Mice With a Supernumerary X Chromosome for Klinefelter Syndrome Research

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Direct experimental investigation of Klinefelter syndrome (KS) in patients is limited because the syndrome manifests heterogeneously and affects multiple organ systems. Studying KS therefore requires a model that captures this complexity as accurately as possible while still permitting controlled experimental manipulation ...

Patients with functional hypothalamic amenorrhea are characterized by low serum inhibin B concentrations

open access: yes, 2010
Functional hypothalamic disturbances may be the cause of secondary amenorrhea and are related to aberration in both the pattern of pulsatility and amplitude in the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) in hypothalamus. Inhibin B, as an ovarian

The Relationships between Anti-Thyroid Peroxidase (Anti-TPO) and Inhibin-B as Predictor Biomarkers for Female Infertility

open access: yesHayati Journal of Biosciences
