PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted on chromosome 10) is well known as a tumour suppressor. In dephosphorylating the 3-position of the inositol ring of phosphoinositides such as PtdIns(3,4,5)P3, PTEN's lipid phosphatase activity is an important counteracting mechanism in PI3K (phosphoinositide 3-kinase) signalling. This is essential for cell

What is inhibited in inhibition of return.
Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, 1996Research on temporal-order judgments, reference frames, discrimination tasks, and links to oculomotor control suggest important differences between inhibition of return (IOR) and attentional costs and benefits. Yet, it is generally assumed that IOR is an attentional effect even though there is little supporting evidence.

Lysimachia Capillipes Inhibit Adipogenesis via Angiogenesis Inhibition
Drug Research, 2018AbstractObesity is a common and increasingly prevalent human condition due to unhealthy diet and less-exercise lifestyle. Development of obesity is associated with substantial modulation of adipose tissue structure. The expansion of adipose tissue is linked to the development of its vasculature, and modulation of angiogenesis may have the potential to ...

Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibition and renin inhibition
Journal of Hypertension, 1989Over a period of several years, methods of measuring circulating angiotensin II have been progressively improved and it has now become possible to measure circulating angiotensin II with a high degree of accuracy. The main ingredients in this new methodology are bonded-phase silica for quantitative angiotensin extraction from biological fluids and ...

Luteolin inhibits CVB3 replication through inhibiting inflammation
Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2019Coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3) infection causes many inflammation-related diseases, such as viral myocarditis and aseptic meningitis. However, no vaccines or drugs have been approved for prevention or therapy of CVB3-induced diseases. In this study, luteolin (3,4,5,7-tetrahydroxyflavone) had been found that could dose-dependently reduce the production of ...

AbstractLatent inhibition (LI) refers to the deleterious effects of nonreinforced stimulus preexposure on its subsequent conditioning. LI is considered to index an organism's ability to ignore inconsequential stimuli and as such provides a useful tool to measure attentional processes as well as their disruption and enhancement by various ...

Inhibiting/De-inhibiting Rules in P Systems
2005We introduce in the P systems area a mechanism, inspired from neural-cell behavior, which controls computations by inhibiting and de-inhibiting evolution rules. We investigate the computational power of this mechanism in both generative and accepting P systems. In particular, we prove that universality can be obtained by using one catalyst.
