Inhibitory Effects of Orientational Adaptation*
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1971A variably oriented test grating was presented for identification in angular degrees immediately following 5-s exposure to a high-contrast grating of the same spatial frequency. The adapting grating was fixed at one of four different orientations, each located 15° away from a primary visual axis. The angle of orientation separating the adapting and the

Effects of alcohol on inhibitory processes
Behavioural Pharmacology, 2008Earlier work has shown that alcohol may have disinhibiting effects on behaviour. Two studies tested the effects of a moderate dose of alcohol (0.6 g/kg) versus placebo on tasks that evaluate inhibitory processes related to alcohol stimuli, in moderate-to-heavy social drinkers (student population). An inhibition of interference task, the Stroop task (ST;

Dual inhibitory effect of bredinin
Cell Biochemistry and Function, 1989AbstractBredinin inhibition of cell growth was investigated in the mouse lymphoma cell line L5178Y. Bredinin caused the accumulation of IMP and the reduction of XMP. It was converted to the 5′‐phosphate within the cells. Bredinin 5′‐phosphate but not bredinin competitively inhibited both IMP dehydrogenase and GMP synthetase. Thus the inhibition of cell

INHIBITORY EFFECT OF MERCURASCAN ON LYMPHOCYTES
Transplantation, 1980Human lymphocytes treated in vitro with Mercurascan (MSC) have a reduced capacity to form E rosettes and to respond to phytohemagglutinin. MSC was also found to reduce the capacity of mouse lymphocytes to activate the regional lymph nodes of allogeneic recipients and release the lymph node-activating factor.

Inhibitory effect of neurotensin on proline
Regulatory Peptides, 1993The effect of neurotensin (NT) on proline absorption across rat jejunum was investigated using the single-pass perfusion technique. This study showed that intravenous administration of NT produced a dose-dependent inhibition of proline absorption. Thus, NT at a 0.16 pmol/kg/min concentration gave 10% decrease in proline absorption while 0.32 and 1.6 ...

Inhibitory Effect of Valsartan on Pterygium Fibroblasts
Cornea, 2020Purpose: Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) were shown to have antifibrotic properties in ocular and systemic diseases. In this study, our aim was to investigate the effect of an angiotensin receptor blocker, valsartan, on pterygium fibroblasts and compare this effect with that of mitomycin C (MMC).

THE INHIBITORY EFFECT OF ACETOACETATE ON MYOCARDIAL CONTRACTION
The Lancet, 1962Williamson and Krebs 1 and Hall 2 have recently reported that acetoacetate, when added to the perfusion medium of an isolated heart in concentrations as high as or higher than in cases of mild ketosis, is oxidised in preference to glucose. These workers, and also Ottaway and Sarkar,3 have shown that lactate accumulated in the perfusion fluid ...

Effects of Inhibitory Signal on Criticality in Excitatory-Inhibitory Networks*
Communications in Theoretical Physics, 2019Abstract We study the criticality in excitatory-inhibitory networks consisting of excitable elements. We investigate the effects of the inhibitory strength using both numerical simulations and theoretical analysis. We show that the inhibitory strength cannot affect the critical point.
