Property rights and private initiatives: An introduction

Town Planning Review, 2007
Exploring alternatives to customary land use planning Land use planning is an activity of a government body carried out in order to achieve certain goals chosen by that body. The activity almost always consists of making plans and testing applications for permission to build against those plans, and often against other rules like building codes.

Diazo-Initiated Polymers - Prepartion, Properties, and Evaluation

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry, 1953
Abstract Throughout the great majority of the many investigations on rubberlike synthetic polymers, the initiators employed have been peroxides, either water-soluble (potassium persulfate being the chief example) or oil-soluble, such as benzoyl peroxide or diisopropylbenzene monohydroperoxide.

Synthesis and properties of polyurethane macroazo initiators

Macromolecular Symposia, 1997
AbstractThe synthesis of a typical polyurethane macroazo initiator (PUMAI) based on 2, 2'‐azobis(2‐cyanopropanol) (ACP), α, ω‐hydroxy polycaprolactone (PCL) and 4, 4'‐methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) occurs in a two stage polycondensation procedure.

Influence of initial flaws on the mechanical properties of nacre

Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2015
Nacre is a bio-composite made up of hard mineral and soft protein, and has excellent mechanical properties. This paper examines the effect of naturally occurring defects (initial flaws) in nacre on its mechanical properties such as toughness and strength. A random fuse model is developed incorporating initial flaws.

M.D.F. initial property determination

2017
"A series of tests on one sheet each of MDF and Moisture Resistant MDF has been carried out by TWP to provide data for comparison with data held by the manufacturer. To reduce the effect of within-sheet variation of properties, three times the number of test coupons required by applicable Standards were prepared and tested.

Preparation and initiating properties of polyolefin hydroperoxides

Polymer Science U.S.S.R., 1987
Abstract The structure of the hydroperoxide formed in polyolefins on oxidation, the rate constant of its breakdown and also the yield of radicals from the cage are shown to depend on the structure of the polymer chains and the molecular mobility of the matrix.

Property Tax Initiatives in the United States

Journal of Housing Research, 2012
This study reviews the history of property tax initiatives in the United States. Major initiatives include California's Proposition 13, Florida's "Save Our Homes" amendment, and Massachusetts' Proposition 2½. Enacting some type of limitation is most appealing when taxpayers feel overtaxed and underserved.

Two remarks on the properties of the initial universe

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1985
The chaotic initial universe seems to be less natural than the homogeneous one. Therefore, it is proposed to use the local Friedmannian metric at once in inflation scenario. It is also shown that ‘the flatness problem’ admits of a trivial solution, if there is a boundary beyond the present particle horizon.
