Purification and Properties of Initiation Factor F3
Nature, 1970Homogeneous preparations of initiation factor F3 have both RNA binding and ribosome dissociation activities. But although DF activity could entirely account for the role of F3 in the ribosome cycle this factor has an additional function in formation of the initiation complex that may be related to its RNA binding properties.

Abstract Two new azo-benzoin initiators were synthesized by the condensation of 4,4′-azo-bis-(4-cyanopentanoic acid chloride) (ACPC) with benzoin (B) and α-methylolbenzoin methyl ether. The initiator structures were confirmed by IR and NMR spectroscopy.

Influence of initial flaws on the mechanical properties of nacre
Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials, 2015Nacre is a bio-composite made up of hard mineral and soft protein, and has excellent mechanical properties. This paper examines the effect of naturally occurring defects (initial flaws) in nacre on its mechanical properties such as toughness and strength. A random fuse model is developed incorporating initial flaws.

M.D.F. initial property determination
2017"A series of tests on one sheet each of MDF and Moisture Resistant MDF has been carried out by TWP to provide data for comparison with data held by the manufacturer. To reduce the effect of within-sheet variation of properties, three times the number of test coupons required by applicable Standards were prepared and tested.
