Bifunctional Initiators: Synthesis, Characterization, and Initiator Properties of Azo-Benzoin Initiators

Journal of Macromolecular Science, Part A, 1990
Abstract Two new azo-benzoin initiators were synthesized by the condensation of 4,4′-azo-bis-(4-cyanopentanoic acid chloride) (ACPC) with benzoin (B) and α-methylolbenzoin methyl ether. The initiator structures were confirmed by IR and NMR spectroscopy.

Purification and Properties of Initiation Factor F3

Nature, 1970
Homogeneous preparations of initiation factor F3 have both RNA binding and ribosome dissociation activities. But although DF activity could entirely account for the role of F3 in the ribosome cycle this factor has an additional function in formation of the initiation complex that may be related to its RNA binding properties.
