Absorption of Intraperitoneally Injected Amipaque in the Rabbit

Acta Radiologica. Diagnosis, 1982
The appearances of intraperitoneally injected Amipaque and the absorption rate are described. At 30 min after injection the peritoneal concentration was decreased and the urinary tract began to fill. At one hour, almost all Amipaque had disappeared from the peritoneal cavity and the urinary tract was well demonstrated.

Reliability of intraperitoneal injections in fish

Experientia, 1967

THE HAZARDS OF INTRAPERITONEAL INJECTIONS

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1933
Intraperitoneal injections of physiologic solution of sodium chloride, first introduced by Blackfan and Maxcy 1 in 1918, have been employed extensively in the treatment of dehydration in infants. More recently the administration of dextrose, 2 diphtheria antitoxin, 3 neoarsphenamine, 4 iron 5 and blood 6 has been recommended by this route. Some authors

A suicide involving intraperitoneal injection of pentobarbital

International Journal of Legal Medicine, 2015
We present an unusual case of suicide by intraperitoneal injection of pentobarbital, an overdose of zolpidem and the intake of diazepam, ethanol and other psychoactive substances. The autopsy and specimen collection were conducted in a 10 to 18 h postmortem interval. The toxicological analysis revealed a significantly higher pentobarbital concentration

Intraperitoneal injection of methyridine

New Zealand Veterinary Journal, 1963
Abstract Extract Sir,—Having read with interest the letter by R. H. Hiscock in the Veterinar'y Record (Vet. Rec. (1962), 74: 1140), I would like to record a similar experience, using the same product on some “tail end” Jersey calves, five to six months of age, which weighed between 100 lb and 160 lb each. They were very poor calves indeed.

Behavioral and neurochemical effects of intraperitoneally injected dendrotoxin

Toxicon, 1988
Intraperitoneal administration of dendrotoxin, a polypeptide isolated from Dendroaspis angusticeps venom, provoked in mice the appearance of a complex stereotyped behavior including biting, head nodding, 'wet-dog' shakes and rearing. Signs of autonomic hyperactivity as well as hyperreactivity to sound and touch were prominent. Neurochemical analyses of

Induction of angiogenesis by intraperitoneal injection of asbestos fibers

The FASEB Journal, 1989
Tumors and activated macrophages release angiogenic factors that stimulate migration and proliferation of capillaries. We studied the development of angiogenesis before the appearance of mesotheliomas in C57B1/6 mice. Weekly i.p. injections of crocidolite asbestos fibers produced mesotheliomas after 30-50 wk. The initial histologic response to asbestos

Evaluation of a novel technique for intraperitoneal injections in mice

Lab Animal, 2015
Intraperitoneal injection is a common technique that safely delivers a substance into the peritoneal cavity but can induce high stress in animals. The authors have developed a new method for administering intraperitoneal injections in mice, with the goal of causing less stress during handling and injection. Here, they compare their novel technique with

INTRAPERITONEAL INJECTION OF CITRATED BLOOD

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1923
To the Editor: —There is no doubt that the intraperitoneal method of giving citrated blood is unnecessary for some men. For the same reason, I very much doubt the ability of the average man successfully to expose and utilize the median cephalic vein in the new-born.

Characterization of macrophages elicited by intraperitoneal injection of hyaluronate

Agents and Actions, 1986
Hyaluronate of 120,000 molecular weight has been injected in the peritoneal cavity of mice to study its effect on migration of inflammatory cells in vivo. After one day a dose-dependent granulocyte migration is observed. Three days later the number of granulocytes is greatly reduced and macrophages form about half of the total cell population ...
