Reliability of intraperitoneal injections in fish

THE HAZARDS OF INTRAPERITONEAL INJECTIONS
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1933Intraperitoneal injections of physiologic solution of sodium chloride, first introduced by Blackfan and Maxcy 1 in 1918, have been employed extensively in the treatment of dehydration in infants. More recently the administration of dextrose, 2 diphtheria antitoxin, 3 neoarsphenamine, 4 iron 5 and blood 6 has been recommended by this route. Some authors

INTRAPERITONEAL INJECTION OF CITRATED BLOOD
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1923To the Editor: —There is no doubt that the intraperitoneal method of giving citrated blood is unnecessary for some men. For the same reason, I very much doubt the ability of the average man successfully to expose and utilize the median cephalic vein in the new-born.

Behavioral and neurochemical effects of intraperitoneally injected dendrotoxin
Toxicon, 1988Intraperitoneal administration of dendrotoxin, a polypeptide isolated from Dendroaspis angusticeps venom, provoked in mice the appearance of a complex stereotyped behavior including biting, head nodding, 'wet-dog' shakes and rearing. Signs of autonomic hyperactivity as well as hyperreactivity to sound and touch were prominent. Neurochemical analyses of

Transfer Effects of Intraperitoneal Injection of Brain Homogenates
Nature, 1967SEVERAL experiments have reported transfer of behavioural modification from, one animal to another by injection of brain material 1–7, but numerous attempts to replicate the phenomenon have yielded negative results8–11. The present experiments provide a further test of the reliability of the phenomenon.

PREPARATION OF DEXTROSE FOR INTRAPERITONEAL INJECTION
Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1929The advantages of dextrose given intraperitoneally as recently demonstrated by Grulee and Sanford 1 have been amply confirmed in this department. Because of its importance in therapy, it seemed desirable to devise a simpler method for the preparation of the dextrose.

Retrograde Amnesia Produced by Intraperitoneal Injection of Physostigmine
Science, 1967Intraperitoneal injection of physostigmine in rats produced a retrograde amnesia of a trained task of escaping shock. This amnesic effect was a U-shaped function of the length of the interval between initial training and injection. In all cases, retraining occurred 30 minutes after injection.

[New routes for infiltration: intraperitoneal injections].
Cahiers d'anesthesiologie, 1995Intraperitoneal administration of local anaesthetics is frequently used during gynaecological laparoscopy and especially after laparoscopic sterilization where the solution may be instilled, sprayed or infiltrated around the clip or the rings. In addition, the subdiaphragmatic instillation of local anaesthetics by the surgeon during laparoscopy is ...
