Piston Crown Profile Modifications for Various Combustion Mode Strategies of Modified GDI Engine towards NOx and PM Reduction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automotive Science and Technology, 2020
In the current development of automotive engines, the major target is to design a combustion chamber in such a way that the combustion process must provide very less concentrations of emissions. To satisfy current worldwide emission norms, petrol engines

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Spray cone angle and air core diameter of hollow cone swirl rocket injector

open access: yesInternational Islamic University Malaysia Engineering Journal, 2011
: Fuel injector for liquid rocket is a very critical component since that small difference in its design can dramatically affect the combustion efficiency. The primary function of the injector is to break the fuel up into very small droplets.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Optimization Design of Drive Mode of Coiled Tubing Injector Head

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2017
At present, there are some defects in the actual use of coiled tubing injector head drive method. In order to address these defects and improve the performance of the injector head, focusing on the structural characteristics of the injector head and ...

Design and development of auxiliary components for a new two-stroke, stratified-charge, lean-burn gasoline engine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A unique stepped-piston engine was developed by a group of research engineers at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), from 2003 to 2005. The development work undertaken by them engulfs design, prototyping and evaluation over a predetermined period of ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Rotating quantum turbulence in superfluid 4He in the T=0 limit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Observations of quantum turbulence in pure superfluid 4He in a rotating container are reported. New techniques of large-scale forcing (rotational oscillations of the cubic container) and detecting (monitoring ion transport along the axis of rotation ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...
