CircMT‐RNR2 promotes wound healing by enhancing fibroblast proliferation, migration, contraction, and extracellular matrix (ECM) production. It sustains mitochondrial redox balance by stabilizing the antioxidant protein PRDX3, thereby reducing ROS‐induced damage. In diabetic foot ulcers, hypoxia, hyperglycemia, and reduced FGF2 and EGF expression lower

Prolonged exposure to stiff extracellular matrix drives cancer‐associated fibroblasts into a persistently activated myofibroblast state. Two parallel pathways are identified: β1 integrin activation smoothens the nuclear lamina to reduce lamin–chromatin contacts, while the formin mDia2 regulates nuclear actin to alter chromatin organization.

Origin and evolution of mitochondrial inner membrane composition
ABSTRACT Unique membrane architectures and lipid building blocks underlie the metabolic and non-metabolic functions of mitochondria. During eukaryogenesis, mitochondria likely arose from an alphaproteobacterial symbiont of an Asgard archaea-related host cell.

4‐HBA upregulates NKIRAS2 levels, inhibiting the activation of the NF‐κB pathway and subsequently reducing the levels of neuroinflammatory markers. This modulation helps restore normal mood and behavior in hyperlipidemic conditions, providing a potential therapeutic strategy for managing hyperlipidemia‐associated depression.

Less than perfect divorces: dysregulated mitochondrial fission and neurodegeneration [PDF]
Research efforts during the last decade have deciphered the basic molecular mechanisms governing mitochondrial fusion and fission. We now know that in mammalian cells mitochondrial fission is mediated by the large GTPase dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1 ...

A Functionally Conserved Enhancer is Critical for PGC1A Expression and Thermogenesis in Brown Fat
An evolutionarily conserved enhancer controls PGC1A expression and thermogenic activation in brown adipose tissue. Integrative multi‐omics analyses identify two BAT‐specific enhancers, with PGC1A‐En1 functioning as the dominant regulatory element that maintains thermogenic capacity across species.

Coordination of cytochrome bc 1 complex assembly at MICOS
The boundary and cristae domains of the mitochondrial inner membrane are connected by crista junctions. Most cristae membrane proteins are nuclear-encoded and inserted by the mitochondrial protein import machinery into the inner boundary membrane.
