RNAseq of INOCA patients identifies innate, invariant, and acquired immune changes: potential autoimmune microvascular dysfunction

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundIschemia with non-obstructive coronary arteries (INOCA) is a major clinical entity that involves potentially 20%–30% of patients with chest pain.

The additional impact of metabolic syndrome on left ventricular deformation and myocardial energetic efficiency impairment in ischemia with nonobstructive coronary arteries patients

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology
Background Ischemia with nonobstructive coronary arteries (INOCA) has high morbidity, mortality, and poor quality of life. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a complex of multiple cardiac metabolic risk factors, significantly increasing the risk of major ...

Unveiling opportunities and challenges for a circular approach to macaúba biorefining: a technological roadmap

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract The macaúba fruit, native to tropical and subtropical regions, has received considerable attention in recent years as a promising raw material for the production of advanced biofuels in Brazil. However, the development of large‐scale biomass requires overcoming significant challenges, such as designing circular biorefineries.

Coronary Flow in Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy—Immediate Effects of Alcohol Septal Ablation

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is associated with alterations in coronary microvascular function which have variable pathophysiologic mechanisms, and variable reversibility acutely and chronically following alcohol septal ablation (ASA).

Inflammation and INOCA

open access: yesJACC: Case Reports
Hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) is an inflammatory condition that rarely affects the heart. A 24-year-old woman presented with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and peripheral eosinophilia. Coronary vasospasm without obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) was noted on cardiac catheterization, and cardiac magnetic resonance showed ...

Exploring the Potential of Macauba Biomass: A Bibliometric Approach to Biofuels and Other Byproducts

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 11, November 2026.
Applications of macauba biomass range from basic to advanced. ABSTRACT Macauba palm (Acrocomia spp.) is a perennial, fruit‐bearing plant native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, predominantly found in South and Central America. Belonging to the Arecaceae family, it thrives in diverse climatic conditions and is characterized by its ...

Ischaemia with no obstructive coronary arteries: a review with focus on the Asian population

open access: yesSingapore Medical Journal
Ischaemia with no obstructive coronary arteries (INOCA) has been a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge for decades. Several studies have demonstrated that INOCA is associated with an increased risk of death, adverse cardiovascular events, poor quality ...

Unveiling the Microvasculature: The Index of Microcirculatory Resistance and Its Expanding Role in Cardiovascular Care

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 108, Issue 2, Page 287-300, August 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Index of microcirculatory resistance (IMR) is a cutting‐edge, wire‐based tool that advances the capability assessment of coronary microvascular function. By utilizing distal coronary pressure and mean transit time under maximal hyperemia, IMR delivers consistent, reproducible insights into the microvasculature's dynamic health.

Clinical Presentation and Treatment Response in Women With Acetylcholine‐Confirmed Coronary Spasm: A Single‐Center Observational Study

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 7, July 2026.
In women with acetylcholine‐confirmed coronary spasm, symptom burden and diagnostic delay were substantial. Calcium‐channel blocker therapy was associated with patient‐reported symptom improvement among respondents with available follow‐up data, although residual symptoms remained common.
