Discovery of unconventional proton-conducting inorganic solids via defect-chemistry-trained, interpretable machine learning

open access: yes, 2023
High-throughput computational screening and machine learning holds significant potential for exploring diverse chemical compositions and discovering novel inorganic solids. However, the complexity of point defects, which occur in all inorganic solids and

Co(III) based surfactant complexes and their Dye, BSA and free radical activities

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
Study reports the preparation of metal/surfactant complexes or Metal Organic Ionic Framework (MOIF) based on ionic interaction of [Co(NH3)6]3+ and Dioctyl sulfosuccinate (AOT)/Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS).

Jago's “Inorganic Chemistry” [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1882
THE kind tone of the first part of the notice, in your issue of December 15 (vol. xxv. p. 150), of my work on Inorganic Chemistry leads me, with your permission, to reply to some questions asked by the reviewer in the latter portion of his remarks. He first inquires “Why should he (the student) begin his chemical career by learning that ‘combining ...

Effect of pressure-assisted heat treatment on photoluminescence emission of α-Bi2O3 needles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Materials with high photoluminescence (PL) intensity can potentially be used in optical and electronic devices. Although the PL properties of bismuth(III) oxide with a monoclinic crystal structure (α-Bi2O3) have been explored in the past few years ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Coking-resistant dry reforming of methane over Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalysts by rationally steering metal-support interaction

open access: yesiScience, 2021
Summary: The coking issue is the main challenge for dry reforming of methane (DRM) over Ni-based catalysts. Herein, we excavate the reasons for the enhanced coking resistance of the bounded Ni over the free state Ni in Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalysts for DRM ...
