VARIwise: a general-purpose adaptive control simulation framework for spatially and temporally varied irrigation at sub-field scale [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Irrigation control strategies may be used to improve the site-specific irrigation of cotton via lateral move and centre pivot irrigation machines. A simulation framework ‘VARIwise’ has been created to aid the development, evaluation and management of ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Nomadic input on mobile devices: the influence of touch input technique and walking speed on performance and offset modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In everyday life people use their mobile phones on-the-go with different walking speeds and with different touch input techniques. Unfortunately, much of the published research in mobile interaction does not quantify the influence of these variables.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Algebraic Monte Carlo precedure reduces statistical analysis time and cost factors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Algebraic Monte Carlo procedure statistically analyzes performance parameters in large, complex systems. The individual effects of input variables can be isolated and individual input statistics can be changed without having to repeat the entire ...

Parameter estimation with missing input/output data [PDF]

open access: yes2009 American Control Conference, 2009
The problem of recursive parameter estimation with missing input/output data is studied in this paper. A fictitious measurement noise model is presented for missing data, and a noise-robust minimum component analysis based algorithm is developed to recursively estimate parameters from the new ‘noisy’ input/output data.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Training Input-Output Recurrent Neural Networks through Spectral Methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We consider the problem of training input-output recurrent neural networks (RNN) for sequence labeling tasks. We propose a novel spectral approach for learning the network parameters.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Experimental research to Optimize Process Parameters in Machining of Non Conducting Material with hybrid non conconventional machining [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Among all non conventional micro machining, electrochemical discharge machining ECDM is having high quality of material removal rate with zero residual stress. This machining has been accepted as a highly modern technology in micromachining.
