Input to State Stabilizing Controller for Systems With Coarse Quantization

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2012
We consider the problem of achieving input-to-state stability (ISS) with respect to external disturbances for control systems with quantized measurements. Quantizers considered in this paper take finitely many values and have an adjustable “center” and “zoom” parameters.

Adaptive quantized attitude control for spacecraft with input saturation

2017 13th IEEE International Conference on Control & Automation (ICCA), 2017
In this paper, we present an adaptive quantized attitude control scheme for spacecraft with input saturation. By using a smooth function to approximate the saturation nonlinearity and decomposing the quantizer in a new way, we ensure that the disturbance-like terms are bounded and the system is suitable for backstepping design.

Observer-Based Stabilization of Systems With Quantized Inputs and Outputs

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2019
We study a stabilization problem for systems with quantized signals. We propose encoding strategies for three signals: the plant output, the control input, and the estimate of the plant output. A controller generates the estimate of the plant output in addition to the control input and then transmits their quantized data to a plant for control and ...

Control of a planar system with quantized and saturated input/output

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2008
The stabilization problem for a simple (unstable) planar system in the presence of input and output quantization and saturation is addressed. It is shown that global stability to a terminal set, the size of which can be arbitrarily reduced, is achieved by means of a hybrid output feedback control law, which reads out the plant only three values and ...

Neural network quantizers for discrete-valued input control

2017 11th Asian Control Conference (ASCC), 2017
The performance deterioration of the system due to quantization is a serious problem that affects the networked control systems. Appropriately designed dynamic quantizers can reduce this performance degradation. However, most of the existing dynamic quantizers are based on a model of the plant and in many situations this model cannot be used. Therefore,

Generalized Spectral Theory for ΣΔ Quantization with Constant Inputs

2006 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speed and Signal Processing Proceedings, 2006
The quantization operation has been traditionally analysed in signal processing and data conversion as a source of white noise although it is of deterministic nature. This model has become particularly inaccurate in SigmaDelta modulation where the quantization resolution can be as low as 1-bit.

Input-to-state stabilization of linear systems with quantized feedback

Proceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
We consider the problem of achieving input-to-state stability (ISS) with respect to external disturbances for control systems with linear dynamics and quantized state measurements. Quantizers considered in this paper take finitely many values and have an adjustable "zoom" parameter.
