Combined effects of canola plant density and insecticide management strategies on flea beetle abundance, canola defoliation, and yield across the Canadian prairies

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Increasing canola plant density reduced flea beetle abundance per plant and increased yield, independent of region or insecticide use, highlighting its potential as a component of integrated pest management. Abstract The crucifer flea beetle, Phyllotreta cruciferae (Goeze), and the striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (Fabricius) (Coleoptera ...

Biotechnological production and insecticidal activity of the overexpressed vegetative insecticidal vip3Ah1 gene in Escherichia coli

open access: yes, 2016
The most important research objectives concerning Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) are to find more potent strains and to identify new insecticidal genes with broad host ranges.

Synthesis and Insecticidal Activity of Gem-Cyano Pyrethroids [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
The synthesis and insecticidal activity of a series of 2,2-dicyano cyclopropane carboxylic acids, (3-phenoxyphenyl)- methyl esters were investigated. Synthesis of the compounds was accomplished by reaction of a dimethyl sulfonium carbethoxy ylide with ...

The insecticidal activity of brachyin.

open access: yes, 2014
Brachyin was dissolved in insect saline and injected into American cockroaches (Periplaneta americana; mass 700–900 mg) and mealbeetles (Tenebrio molitor larvae; mass 190–210 mg). The death of the insects was counted.aFor each dosage of brachyin, a total

SYN‐A, a naturally derived synergist, restores pyrethroid efficacy against cabbage stem flea beetle but negatively impacts its parasitoid Microctonus brassicae

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
SYN‐A, a naturally derived synergist, inhibited key metabolic pathways associated with pyrethroid insecticide resistance in cabbage stem flea beetle (CSFB) and its parasitoid Microctonus brassicae. SYN‐A restored pyrethroid efficacy against resistant CSFB allowing up to 80% reduction in application rates.

Synthetic polymer nanocarrier enhances dsRNA stability but not RNAi efficacy in Brassicogethes aeneus

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Experimental setup for dsRNA feeding in Brassicogethes aeneus to evaluate the effect of a synthetic polymer nanocarrier on RNAi efficiency. The experiment assessed whether the nanocarrier enhances RNAi after oral dsRNA delivery. (a) Stability of dsRNA–nanocarrier complexes was tested in simulated gut conditions. (b) Gene expression of αCOP and dre4 was

Effects of bioinsecticide exposure route on aphids and their natural enemies in oilseed rape

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Fatty acids, silicone polymers and surfactants reduced aphid numbers but caused natural enemy mortality under direct exposure, while minimal residual activity suggests potential for targeted, compatible use in integrated pest management. Abstract BACKGROUND Myzus persicae Sulzer and Brevicoryne brassicae L.

BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF AROYLHYDRAZIDES 1,4-DICARBOXYLIC ACIDS

open access: yesРазработка и регистрация лекарственных средств, 2019
Anthelmintic, insecticidal activities and influence on hemostasis of aroylhydrazides 1,4-dicarboxylic acids were investigated. Anthelmintic activity was investigated for 8 compounds, including three substances showed effect that exceed effect of the ...

Seedling resistance and chemical defenses against Psylliodes chrysocephala: the roles of seed age and sinapinic acid in Sinapis alba and Brassica napus

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
The cabbage stem flea beetle (Psylliodes chrysocephala) is a major pest of winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus). We tested B. napus and Sinapis alba seedlings for feeding resistance and underlying chemical defenses. S. alba was least damaged, while metabolite profiles revealed resistance‐linked compounds, highlighting breeding potential for insect ...
