Moringa oleifera Lam. As a Herbal Antioxidant-Enriched Semen Extender in Cryopreservation: A Critical Review of Its Protective Potential. [PDF]

open access: yesVet Med Sci
Moringa oleifera extract protects cryopreserved sperm by scavenging reactive oxygen species and reducing oxidative stress. It enhances antioxidant enzyme activity, including superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxidase, thereby maintaining cellular redox balance.

EAACI Molecular Allergology User's Guide 2.0

open access: yesPediatric Allergy and Immunology, Volume 34, Issue S28, March 2023., 2023
Abstract Since the discovery of immunoglobulin E (IgE) as a mediator of allergic diseases in 1967, our knowledge about the immunological mechanisms of IgE‐mediated allergies has remarkably increased. In addition to understanding the immune response and clinical symptoms, allergy diagnosis and management depend strongly on the precise identification of ...

Clinical and molecular characterization of patients affected by Beckwith‐Wiedemann spectrum conceived through assisted reproduction techniques

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 102, Issue 4, Page 314-323, October 2022., 2022
Abstract The prevalence of Beckwith–Wiedemann spectrum (BWSp) is tenfold increased in children conceived through assisted reproductive techniques (ART). More than 90% of ART‐BWSp patients reported so far display imprinting center 2 loss‐of‐methylations (IC2‐LoM), versus 50% of naturally conceived BWSp patients.

Assessment of the control measures for category A diseases of Animal Health Law: Lumpy Skin Disease

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 20, Issue 1, January 2022., 2022
Abstract EFSA received a mandate from the EC to assess the effectiveness of some of the control measures against diseases included in the Category A list according to Regulation (EU) 2016/429 on transmissible animal diseases (‘Animal Health Law’). This opinion belongs to a series of opinions where these control measures are assessed, with this opinion ...

Maximum levels of cross‐contamination for 24 antimicrobial active substances in non‐target feed.
Part 4: β‐Lactams: amoxicillin and penicillin V

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 19, Issue 10, October 2021., 2021
Abstract The specific concentrations of amoxicillin and penicillin V in non‐target feed for food‐producing animals, below which there would not be an effect on the emergence of, and/or selection for, resistance in bacteria relevant for human and animal health, as well as the specific antimicrobial concentrations in feed which have an effect in terms of

Bovine viral diarrhea virus: An updated American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine consensus statement with focus on virus biology, hosts, immunosuppression, and vaccination

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 34, Issue 5, Page 1690-1706, September 2020., 2020
Abstract Control of bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) in cattle populations across most of the world has remained elusive in spite of advances in knowledge about this viral pathogen. A central feature of virus perseverance in cattle herds is the unique mechanism of persistent infection.

Risks in Surrogacy Considering the Embryo: From the Preimplantation to the Gestational and Neonatal Period

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
Surrogacy is an assisted reproduction‐based approach in which the intended parents assign the gestation and birth to another woman called the surrogate mother. The drivers of surrogacy refer largely to infertility, medical conditions, same‐sex couples’ parenting, and cases of diversity regarding sexual identity and orientation.

Avian influenza

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2017., 2017
Abstract Previous introductions of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus (HPAIV) to the EU were most likely via migratory wild birds. A mathematical model has been developed which indicated that virus amplification and spread may take place when wild bird populations of sufficient size within EU become infected.
