Molecular‐Tailored Ultrathin Hydrophobic Interphases for High‐Stable Zinc Metal Anodes

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Through a systematic comparison of the effects of alkyl small molecules with different backbone chain lengths and terminal structural distributions on the surface coverage and ordering of hydrophobic interfacial layers, the highly ordered FT‐SAMs are successfully constructed.

Applications of Biomaterials in Separators for Secondary Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
In this review, biomaterial‐based separators are reviewed as sustainable alternatives to conventional polyolefin‐based separators. For 12 different natural polymers, spanning from Protista, Plantae, and Animalia, viable strategies for synthesizing biomass‐based separators are described.

The Impact of Glycation on Protein Digestibility

open access: yesChemFoodChem, EarlyView.
Schematic overview of how protein glycation affects digestibility and downstream nutritional consequences. Glycation‐derived structural modifications reduce protease accessibility, leading to limited hydrolysis and altered peptide generation. These changes decrease amino acid bioavailability and may subsequently contribute to microbiome alterations ...

Countercation Manipulation Enables Selective Electrochemical CO2‐to‐Formate Conversion Over Bi‐Polyoxometalate‐Derived Catalysts

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Ba2+ salt of Bi‐incorporated polyoxometalate (POM), Bi4 ([Bi4O(γ‐SiW10O36)2(OAc)]7−), immobilized on a carbon support (Ba‐Bi4/C) functioned as a formate (HCOO−)‐selective catalyst for electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR). The incorporation of Ba2+ and the formation of highly dispersed Bi species were the key factors for Ba‐Bi4/C to achieve ...

Multi‐Scale Investigation of Supramolecular Organogels Assembled From Pt(II)‐Salphen Complexes

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A family of Pt(II)‐salphen complexes with long alkyl chains is investigated as low‐molecular‐weight organogelators. Multi‐scale characterization of their supramolecular gels reveals how the chain length, Pt‐Pt interactions, and π–π stacking direct self‐assembly and tune gel mechanics.
