A robot application to marine vessel inspection
Seagoing vessels have to undergo regular inspections, which are currently performed manually by ship surveyors. The main cost factor in a ship inspection is to provide access to the different areas of the ship, since the surveyor has to be close to the ...

Plant inspection and maintenance robots.
This paper deals with robots employed for inspection and maintenance work in plants, which has been conventionally performed by human operators. The work is usually dangerous and hazardous, since it must be carried out in a hostile environment. Modern robotic technology can replace the work of humans with robots in chemical plants, nuclear power plants,

This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

Abstract: A pipe inspection robot is device that is inserted into pipes to check for obstruction or damage. These robots are traditionally manufactured offshore, are extremely expensive, and are often not adequately supported in the event or malfunction. This had resulted in associated environmental services limited.

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.
