Görtler instability [PDF]

open access: yesThe Physics of Fluids, 1981
Görtler instability for boundary-layer flows over generally curved walls is considered. The full-linearized disturbance equations are obtained in an orthogonal curvilinear coordinate system. A perturbation procedure to account for second-order effects is used to determine the effects of the displacement thickness and the variation of the streamline ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Analysis of Surrounding Rock Stability Based on Refined Geological and Mechanical Parameter Modeling—A Case Study

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Metallic ore deposits are generally formed through magmatic intrusions, followed by metamorphism. The geological structures in such regions are often complex, with mechanical parameters exhibiting significant variability.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Deep cell phenotyping and spatial analysis of multiplexed imaging with TRACERx-PHLEX

open access: yesNature Communications
The growing scale and dimensionality of multiplexed imaging require reproducible and comprehensive yet user-friendly computational pipelines. TRACERx-PHLEX performs deep learning-based cell segmentation (deep-imcyto), automated cell-type annotation ...

ID3 regulates the MDC1-mediated DNA damage response in order to maintain genome stability

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
MDC1 is a key component of the DNA damage response and interacts with several factors such as γ-H2AX. Here the authors show that MDC1 interacts with ID3, facilitating MDC1 recruitment to sites of damage and repair of breaks.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Instability of liquid jet penetrated into stream in channel

open access: yes, 2009
Penetration process and an instability on a liquid jet impinging to a stream of the same fluid in a channel is focused. The jet penetrated into the stream is wrapped by entrained air, and coalesces with the stream when the air sheath around the jet ...

Investment and Instability [PDF]

open access: yes
Although recet research has repeatedly found a negative association between investment and socio-political instability (SPI), the existence and direction of causality between these two variables has not yet been investigated. We construct an index of SPI

Molecular cancer prevention: Intercepting disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology
Over several decades, therapeutic advances have transformed oncology, yet for many tumour types, survival improvements have been incremental, with substantial treatment‐related morbidity. A decisive pivot in oncology, from treating established malignancy
