A setup to study atomic state population dynamics and optical polarization at CRYRING@ESR [PDF]
We present a recently established setup for laser spectroscopy at CRYRING@ESR at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research. Here, laser spectroscopy can be performed on stored and cooled ion bunches and coasting beams.

Probing the atmosphere of a sub-Jovian planet orbiting a cool dwarf [PDF]
We derive the 0.01 $\mu$m binned transmission spectrum, between 0.74 and 1.0 $\mu$m, of WASP-80b from low resolution spectra obtained with the FORS2 instrument attached to ESO's Very Large Telescope.

The Fornax 3D project: Thick disks in a cluster environment [PDF]
We have used deep MUSE observations to perform a stellar-kinematic and population analysis of FCC 153 and FCC 177, two edge-on S0 galaxies in the Fornax cluster.

Discovery of SRGA J144459.2-604207 with the SRG/RT-XC telescope : A well-tempered bursting accreting millisecond X-ray pulsar [PDF]
We report the discovery of the new accreting millisecond X-ray pulsar SRGA\,J144459.2$-$604207 using data of the SRG The source was observed twice in February 2024 during the declining phase of the outburst. The timing analysis revealed a coherent signal

Non-thermal electrons open the non-equilibrium pathway of the phase transition in FeRh
The optical excitation of metals initially creates short-lived non-Fermi distributions of the electrons. The electrons and holes excited far above and below the Fermi level quickly relax to hot Fermi-distributions that subsequently cool via electron ...

We demonstrate that deterministic in situ electron‐beam lithography enables precise integration of single quantum dots into compact circular Bragg grating resonators, achieving high extraction efficiency with only 3–4 rings. Across 95 devices, the approach delivers >$>$90% alignment yield and bright, narrow‐linewidth single‐photon emission, providing a

Testing a non-local 1-equation turbulent convection model: A solar model [PDF]
Turbulent convection models treat stellar convection more physically than standard mixing-length theory by including non-local effects. We recently successfully applied the Kuhfuss version to convective cores in main sequence stars.

Identification of Near-infrared [Se iii] and [Kr vi] Emission Lines in Planetary Nebulae [PDF]
We identify [Se iii] 1.0994 μm in the planetary nebula (PN) NGC 5315 and [Kr vi] 1.2330 μm in three PNe from spectra obtained with the Folded-Port InfraRed Echellette (FIRE) spectrometer on the 6.5 m Baade Telescope.
